UIDAI is hiring 2 Deputy Directors at its Head Office in New Delhi on deputation (Foreign Service terms). UIDAI Deputy Director Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) — the organisation responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers — has released a notification for 2 Deputy Director posts at its Head Office, New Delhi. This is a deputation (Foreign Service terms) appointment, meaning only currently serving government and public sector officers can apply. The original vacancy circular was issued on 03 February 2026 and the closing date has since been extended to 20 April 2026.

Who Can Apply?

This post is only open to serving officers. Private candidates are not eligible.

Essential Eligibility (Central Government Officers)

  • Officers holding analogous posts on regular basis in their parent cadre/department
  • OR officers with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500)
  • OR officers with 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-9 (Rs. 53,100 – Rs. 1,67,800)
  • OR officers with 6 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-8 (Rs. 47,600 – Rs. 1,51,100)
  • You must have completed at least 5 years of total government service

Essential Eligibility (Other Organisations)

  • Officers from State/UT Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation holding regular posts in corresponding grades with the required experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in Administration, Legal, Establishment, HR, Finance, Accounts, Budgeting, Vigilance, Procurement, Planning & Policy, Project Implementation & Monitoring, or E-Governance
  • Basic computer skills for working in a computerised office environment

Note: Officers holding an analogous post in the parent organisation may be preferred. You cannot withdraw your candidature once you have applied.

Age Limit

  • You must be below 56 years of age as on the closing date of application (20 April 2026)
  • You must have a minimum residual service of 3 years as on the closing date

Salary

  • Pay Matrix Level-11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission
  • Salary range: Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month
  • During deputation, salary, allowances, and other service conditions will be as per UIDAI's Appointment and Salary Regulations, 2020
  • If your parent organisation has a different pay structure, your pay will be protected (not the perquisites)
  • Aadhaar Housing Complex residential accommodation may be available at DDU Marg, New Delhi
  • Medical benefits: You can continue with CGHS coverage of your parent organisation, or use UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme

Selection Process

  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates' service records and ACR/APAR reports will be verified
  3. Selection: Final selection based on overall suitability and merit

  3. Your forwarding authority must provide a certificate in Annex II confirming cadre clearance, integrity, and no vigilance cases
  4. Attach copies of your ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, duly attested by an officer of at least Under Secretary rank

Responsibilities

  • Handle administration, HR, finance, or policy matters as assigned by UIDAI Head Office
  • Assist in planning and implementing Aadhaar-related projects and e-governance initiatives
  • Manage procurement, budgeting, and vigilance activities within the department
  • Supervise staff and oversee day-to-day office operations at UIDAI Head Office
  • Prepare reports, policy notes, and correspondence for senior officers
  • Coordinate with Central Government ministries and other organisations as required
  • Monitor project implementation and ensure compliance with government rules and regulations

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Serving Central/State/UT Govt, PSU or Autonomous Organisation officer holding analogous post or with required years of service in Pay Level 8/9/10

Preferred Qualification

Experience in Administration, Legal, HR, Finance, Accounts, Budgeting, Vigilance, Procurement, Planning & Policy, Project Implementation, E-Governance; Basic computer knowledge

Required Skills

Basic computer skills; Experience in government administration
