The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has announced 7,437 vacancies across the Police, Special Protection Force (SPF), Fire Disaster Response & Emergency, and Prisons & Correctional Services Departments. Posts range from Police Constable and Fire Fighter to Sub Inspector, Station Fire Officer, and Deputy Jailor. You will be able to apply online once the application window opens on tgprb.in. TSLPRB has issued four separate notifications on 29 July 2026 (under GO Ms No. 78, 80, 83 and 84) covering direct recruitment to the Police Department, Special Protection Force, Fire Disaster Response Emergency & Civil Defence Department, and Prisons & Correctional Services Department. Police Constable (Civil) alone accounts for 3,697 posts — the single largest post in this recruitment drive — making this one of the biggest Telangana government recruitment exercises this year. Selected candidates will initially join as a Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) for their respective post and complete training before regular posting. Candidates from Sub Inspector to Constable-level posts across four uniformed services can apply through one common recruitment process run by TSLPRB.

Who Can Apply?

• Detailed post-wise qualification, age and physical standards for each post (Constable, Sub Inspector, Fire Fighter, Warder, Deputy Jailor, etc.) are given in the separate detailed notification for each department on tgprb.in — check your specific post before applying.
• Candidates are advised to get a medical check-up done by a Civil Surgeon before applying, to confirm they meet the Physical and Medical Standards required for the post.
• All selected candidates join initially as a Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) for the post they are recruited to, and complete a training period before being confirmed on the post.

Salary

• Pay ranges from Rs. 24,280 to Rs. 72,850 per month for Constable-level posts (Police Constable, SPF Constable, Fire Fighter, Warder).
• Pay ranges from Rs. 33,750 to Rs. 1,15,270 per month for Sub Inspector, Assistant Sub Inspector, Station Fire Officer, and Deputy Jailor posts.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Telangana government rules.

Selection Process

TSLPRB will select candidates through 3 stages:

1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT): An initial written test to shortlist candidates.
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the PWT are checked for height, chest and other physical standards, followed by a running/efficiency test.
3. Final Written Examination (FWE): A final written exam decides your merit ranking.

3. Keep your caste, EWS, non-creamy layer, and local candidature certificates ready in advance.
4. Fill the online application form once it goes live and upload the required documents.
5. Submit the form and note down your application number for future reference.

• Latest SC Community Certificate with sub-classification (SC Group I/II/III), for SC candidates local to Telangana
• Latest EWS Category Certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026, for EWS candidates local to Telangana
• Latest Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026, for BC candidates local to Telangana
• Local Candidature Certificate (Bonafide Certificates from 1st to 7th class, or Residence Certificate)
• Special Category Certificates, wherever applicable

• Maintain law and order and prevent crime in the assigned jurisdiction (Police/SPF posts)
• Respond to emergency calls and control fire incidents (Fire Department posts)
• Guard and manage inmates, and maintain discipline inside prison premises (Prisons Department posts)
• Patrol assigned areas and assist senior officers during investigations and law enforcement duties
• Maintain accurate daily records, registers, and duty reports
• Follow department rules, safety protocols and the chain of command at all times
• Undergo periodic training and physical fitness checks as required by the department
