TANUVAS Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) has released a notification for one temporary contractual Project Assistant position under the Chief Minister's Research Grant (CMRG) scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. The project is titled "Formulation and Validation of nano phyto-mineral compound against lead acetate induced changes and lead residues in poultry meat and egg" (Scheme No. CMRG25-UE-0116). The position is for 3 years (up to 31 January 2029) with annual renewal based on performance.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Veterinary Sciences, OR Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Life Sciences, Animal Science or related disciplines from a recognised university.
  • Preferable: First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree.
  • Desirable Experience: Phytochemical analysis, herbal formulation, nano formulation, in silico studies, physicochemical characterisation (FTIR, SEM, TEM, XRD, particle size analysis), poultry experimental studies, heavy metal quantification, biochemical and immunological assays, PCR/qPCR, and research publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 21 and 45 years old.
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Government of Tamil Nadu / TANUVAS norms.

Salary

  • Consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month
  • No other allowances are admissible beyond the consolidated amount
  • Income tax will be deducted at source as per Government norms

Selection Process

  1. Application Screening: Applications are screened based on academic qualifications, experience and research credentials.
  2. Written Test (if needed): If there are too many applications, a written test may be conducted for shortlisting.
  3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are informed by email or phone and called for a personal interview.
  4. Final Selection: Based on performance in the written test, interview and relevant experience. The decision of the Principal Investigator is final.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out in silico analysis of herbs and minerals against lead toxicity
  • Conduct phytochemical and physicochemical analysis of plant extracts
  • Convert plant and mineral compounds into nano forms
  • Characterise nano formulations using SEM, TEM, particle size analyser and other techniques
  • Run preliminary dose fixation and toxicity screening studies in broilers and layers
  • Conduct experimental studies in poultry and evaluate production parameters
  • Perform haematological, biochemical, immunological, molecular and microbiota analysis
  • Prepare data analysis, reports, manuscripts and project documentation

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Veterinary Sciences, OR Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Biotechnology / Nanotechnology / Life Sciences / Animal Science from a recognised university

Preferred Qualification

First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree
