Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) wants a contractual Assistant Professor for its Division of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology. The post sits in the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (F.V.Sc & A.H.) at the R.S. Pura campus near Jammu. This is an academic arrangement for the 2026-27 session, meant to keep teaching running in the division, not a regular faculty post. If you hold a veterinary master's in this subject and have a PhD or NET, this is a good way to get university teaching experience.

Your pay depends on your highest degree: PhD holders get a higher consolidated amount than master's-level candidates, so attach your doctoral certificate if you have one.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Engagement type: Purely on contract basis for the academic session 2026-27 only.
• Extension: The university may extend it by one more year if your performance is satisfactory and the position is still needed.
• No regularisation: You cannot claim regularisation or absorption against any regular university post later.
• Notice period: If you want to leave, you must give one month's notice.
• Interview travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Interview mode: The interview is offline, held at the Office of the Director Education, Main Campus, SKUAST-J, Chatha, in the second fortnight of November 2026.
• Communication: The university tells you about the interview by e-mail only, so write a working e-mail ID on your form and check it often.
• Late forms: Applications that arrive after the closing time are not considered.

The form asks you to score yourself on academic performance indices — degrees, scholarships, fellowships, GATE/NET, medals, publications, presentations, awards and teaching experience — so attach proof for every item you claim.

Send the filled form with attested copies of your certificates and a demand draft in favour of the Dean, F.V.Sc & A.H., payable at R.S. Pura. It must reach the Office of the Division of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, F.V.Sc & A.H., SKUAST-J, R.S. Pura, Jammu-181102 (J&K) by 5:00 PM on the closing day. The notice accepts applications by post only.

Teaching experience certificates should follow the format printed at the end of the application form, stating the job, the period served and the pay drawn as per the employer's records. Only teaching in government organisations or autonomous bodies such as universities counts towards experience marks.
