The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration has released an advertisement to fill 1 vacant post of Research & Training Specialist in its State Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW) office. This is a contract position, not a permanent government job, so it suits candidates who already have field experience in women's welfare and development programmes rather than fresh graduates. There is no written exam for this post — you will be shortlisted on the basis of your application and called for an interview.

SHEW works on training and research related to women's empowerment schemes run by the Chandigarh Administration. As a Research & Training Specialist, you would support this work by studying ground-level issues faced by women and helping design and run training programmes under the department's schemes. Since this is a single-post, contract-based hiring, the department is looking for someone who can start contributing quickly without much on-the-job training.

If you have already worked in the social development sector — with an NGO, a government scheme, or a women's welfare programme — this role gives you a chance to move into a specialist position with the Chandigarh Administration itself. Since only 1 post is available and it is filled purely on a contract basis, the department is looking for someone with hands-on field experience who can start contributing from day one.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You should be a graduate, preferably in Social Work or another social science discipline.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 37 years old.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a fixed salary of Rs. 34,755 per month for this contract post.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
