The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration has issued Public Notice No. Palna-Creches/2026/2944 dated 09 July 2026 for engaging Creche Workers and Creche Helpers at various Anganwadi-cum-Creche centers under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. These are part-time engagements paid on an honorarium basis, not regular salaried government posts. Only female candidates residing in Chandigarh can apply, preferably from the same locality as the vacant center. These Anganwadi-cum-Creche centers run under the Palna initiative and provide day-care support to children of working mothers in your neighbourhood, so Creche Workers and Creche Helpers play a direct hands-on role in caring for young children while their mothers are at work.

Who Can Apply?

For Creche Worker:

• Qualification: Class XII (Intermediate) pass
• Gender: Only female candidates can apply
• Domicile: You must be a resident of Chandigarh, preferably from the same area as the vacant post
• Role: Lead day-to-day care, hygiene and recreational activities for children at the assigned center

For Creche Helper:

• Qualification: Class X (Matriculation) pass
• Gender: Only female candidates can apply
• Domicile: You must be a resident of Chandigarh, preferably from the same area as the vacant post

A B.Ed/NTT/ETT or equivalent recognized qualification, computer literacy, and any prior experience as a Creche Worker/Helper may be considered as additional strengths during selection.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 09 July 2026 (the date the public notice was issued).
• Reservation in selection will be applied as per the government's reservation policy for SC/OBC/EWS and special categories such as destitute, divorced, deserted, or widowed women.
• There is no upper age relaxation mentioned for any category in the public notice — the 18 to 35 years band applies uniformly to both Creche Worker and Creche Helper posts.

Salary

• Selected Creche Workers will get an honorarium of Rs. 8,500 per month.
• Selected Creche Helpers will get an honorarium of Rs. 4,650 per month.
• This is a part-time, honorarium-based engagement and not a regular salaried government post with pay scale or pension benefits.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for these posts. Selection happens directly through a personal interaction:

1. Document Verification: Bring your filled application form (Annexure C) along with self-attested copies of your educational certificates, date of birth proof, Aadhar card, and category certificate (if applicable).
2. Personal Interaction: A selection committee will review your application and qualifications on the spot at the designated venue for your area.
3. Engagement Letter: If selected, you will be engaged on a part-time, honorarium basis at the Anganwadi-cum-Creche center nearest to your residence.

Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the due date will be rejected. No separate intimation will be sent for the personal interaction, so make sure you attend on the correct date for your area.

• Provide nurturing care and supervision to children at the Anganwadi-cum-Creche center
• Maintain attendance records and mark attendance on the Aadhar Bas App
• Organize daily activities including free play, book reading and outdoor games for children
• Keep the creche premises, toys and play equipment clean and hygienic
• Assist the Anganwadi Worker in growth monitoring of the children
• Follow all safety protocols while handling and supervising children
• Maintain proper communication with parents about the child's well-being
• Maintain discipline and punctuality during duty hours
