The Department of Education, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, has invited applications to prepare a merit panel for the contractual engagement of Lecturers in Mechanical Engineering at the Government Polytechnic College, Minicoy. Selection is through an online or offline interview — there is no written exam. Engagement from the panel depends on actual vacancy availability in the Department, so being on the panel keeps you in line for openings as they arise, though it does not guarantee immediate engagement. The Department reserves the right to cancel, modify or withdraw the merit panel at any stage, wholly or partially, for administrative or technical reasons.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or a relevant discipline) with First Class or equivalent.
• Preferred: A Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent, or a Ph.D. in a relevant subject.
• Preferred Experience: Prior experience as a Lecturer in a Government-recognized Polytechnic College.
• Relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a remuneration of Rs. 30,000 per month for the post of Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Your selection follows an interview-based process used to build the merit panel:

1. Application Screening: A checklist of eligible applicants is published for review.
2. Interview: Conducted online or in person, based on the mode you indicate in your application.
3. Merit Panel Preparation: A final panel is prepared; your engagement depends on vacancies actually arising in the Department.

Being included in the merit panel does not confer any right or claim to contractual engagement — it only means you are eligible to be considered when a vacancy comes up.

Checklist Corrections

Once the checklist is published, you get a window to flag errors or discrepancies to the Principal, Government Polytechnic College, Minicoy. You must send your correction request by email within two days of publication, along with supporting documents, and confirm receipt of your email with the Principal's office over phone. No correction requests are entertained after this two-day window, so check the checklist carefully as soon as it is published.
