Jal Shakti Vibhag (Water Resources Department), Dharamshala Division in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, has invited applications for 12 posts — 5 Para Pump Operators, 2 Para Fitters and 5 Multipurpose Workers. These posts were sanctioned to the Dharamshala division by the Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Vibhag Shimla, and further notified locally by the Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Circle, Dharamshala, based on the division's manpower requirement at various water supply schemes. Of the 12 posts, 2 are backlog vacancies reserved for the EWS category that went unfilled in an earlier selection round due to non-availability of eligible EWS candidates. These posts are open only to Bonafide Himachali candidates and are filled on an honorarium basis rather than a regular government pay scale. Candidates with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, or a Middle Pass qualification for Multipurpose Worker, can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Para workers are engaged by Jal Shakti Vibhag to operate, maintain and repair equipment at local water supply and irrigation schemes. Each post has its own qualification requirement, listed below.

Para Pump Operator:

• Matriculation (10th Pass) with an ITI certificate in Electrician, Wireman, Diesel Mechanic, Pump Mechanic, Motor Mechanic or Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic trade
• OR Matriculation with a certificate in the above trades under the Government Skill Development Scheme

Para Fitter:

• Matriculation (10th Pass) with an ITI certificate in Fitter or Plumber trade
• OR Matriculation with a certificate in the above trades under the Government Skill Development Scheme

Multipurpose Worker:

• Middle Pass (8th Pass) or equivalent qualification from a recognized school

• Domicile: Only Bonafide Himachali candidates can apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old to apply for any of these posts.

Salary

• Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter: Rs. 7,100 per month (honorarium)
• Multipurpose Worker: Rs. 6,000 per month (honorarium)
• This is an honorarium-based engagement, not a regular government pay scale.
• Candidates with prior experience in IPH, HPPWD, CPWD, PSUs or outsourcing agencies serving the Jal Shakti Vibhag get half (0.5) mark for every 6 months of experience in the merit calculation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for these posts. Selection is based on your qualification, experience and merit:

1. Merit List Preparation: The department prepares your merit position based on your qualification marks, plus any experience marks you have earned (half a mark for every 6 months of relevant experience).
2. Document Verification: The department checks your original certificates against the copies you submitted, including your age proof, educational and technical certificates, and Bonafide Himachali status.
3. Skill/Physical Test: Shortlisted candidates are called for a skill or physical test.
4. Final Selection: Based on your overall merit.
