State Bank of India (SBI) is hiring 821 Concurrent Auditors on a contract basis across 17 circles in India. This is open only to retired SBI officers who retired on superannuation at age 60. You will get a monthly salary between Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 80,000 depending on your retired grade. The last date to apply online is 11 June 2026.

State Bank of India (SBI), through its Central Recruitment & Promotion Department (CRPD), Mumbai, has released notification number CRPD/RS/2026-27/08 for engaging 821 retired SBI officers as Concurrent Auditors on contract. The auditors will work under the Internal Audit Department (IAD), Hyderabad, and be deployed at branches and outfits under the supervision of GM (IA) of the respective Circle Audit Office. This drive cancels the existing waitlist of Concurrent Auditors — earlier waitlisted officers must reapply if they are still eligible.

Who Can Apply?

• Retirement Type: You must have retired from SBI service on attaining superannuation at age 60 years. Officers who took voluntary retirement, resigned, were suspended, or left the Bank otherwise before superannuation are not eligible.
• Special Voluntary Retirement Clause: Officers who completed 58 years of age AND 30 years of pensionable service on the date of applying for voluntary retirement (as per e-Circular CDO/P&HRD-PM/20/2022-23 dated 21.06.2022) are eligible once they attain 60 years of age.
• Retired Grade: Only officers who retired as MMGS-III, SMGS-IV, SMGS-V, or TEGS-VI from SBI and its e-Associate banks are eligible.
• Preferred Experience: Work experience in credit, audit, or Forex background is preferred.
• Track Record: You should have a good performance record and thorough knowledge of Bank's systems and procedures.
• Integrity: Your integrity must not have been doubtful during service.
• No Penalty: No punishment or penalty (Censure or higher) should have been imposed in the five years before your retirement.
• No Pending Cases: No CBI or other law enforcement agency case should be pending against you.
• Health: You must maintain good health and not suffer from any major ailments.
• Residency Preference: You should preferably be a resident of the area where the branch or outfit is located. If you apply for a post outside your current residential center, you will bear the cost of stay and transport.
• One Application Only: Only one application per Retired Officer is accepted (for one Circle). If you submit multiple applications, only the last completed one will be considered.

Age Limit

• Maximum age as on date of advertisement (14.05.2026): 63 years for fresh engagement.
• The engagement runs until you attain 65 years of age or completes a maximum of 3 years, whichever is earlier.
• No age relaxation is available to reserved category candidates — the maximum age applies to all.

Salary

You will get a monthly lump-sum compensation (for full-time work) without any perquisites and without prejudice to your pension:

• Retired as MMGS-III: Rs. 45,000 per month
• Retired as SMGS-IV: Rs. 50,000 per month
• Retired as SMGS-V: Rs. 65,000 per month
• Retired as TEGS-VI: Rs. 80,000 per month
• Cluster Audit (2 or more branches): Additional Rs. 2,000 per visit per branch for weekly audits of currency chest, Forex transactions, FSLOs etc.
• Your existing SBI pension continues — the compensation does NOT affect it.
• Income Tax will be deducted at source as per IT rules.
• No house, furniture, PF, gratuity, or other perquisites are provided during the contract.

Application Fee

• No application fee is mentioned in the notification for any category.

Selection Process

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Shortlisting: A Shortlisting Committee will decide the parameters and call adequate candidates for interview. Merely meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview (100 marks): The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank. The merit list is prepared in descending order of interview marks. If two candidates score the same cut-off marks, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Selected candidates are kept in a pool valid for 1 year and deployed against actual vacancies. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Verify all loan documents and ensure compliance with sanction and follow-up guidelines issued by the Bank
