Patna High Court Computer Operator-cum-Typist Recruitment 2026 — 48 Posts

The High Court of Judicature at Patna has released Advertisement No. PHC/02/2026 dated 10 April 2026 for filling 48 posts (47 fresh + 1 backlog for Locomotor Disabled category). These are Group-C permanent positions in the establishment of the High Court, initially on probation for one year. Out of the total posts, 15 posts are horizontally reserved for women.

Who Can Apply?

You need all three of the following qualifications as on 01.01.2026:

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or Institution
• Diploma or Certificate of at least six months' course in Computer Application
• Typing proficiency: 40 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi

Candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for at least 2 years, or hold an NCC 'B' certificate, will get preference at the interview stage.

Candidates must be permanent residents of Bihar to claim category-based age relaxation and reservation benefits.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years as on 01.01.2026 (born not later than 01.01.2008)
• UR/EWS — Male: Maximum 37 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1989)
• UR/EWS — Female: Maximum 40 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1986)
• BC and EBC (Male & Female): Maximum 40 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1986)
• Scheduled Castes (Male & Female): Maximum 42 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1984)
• Locomotor Disabled candidates get an additional 10 years relaxation over their category limit
• Central/Bihar Govt employees get an additional 5 years upper age relaxation

Salary

• Pay Level: Level 4 of the 7th Pay Revision Commission (7th PRC) pay matrix
• Basic Pay Range: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month
• Plus usual allowances as admissible under Patna High Court Officers and Staff Rules

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Screening Test (MCQ-based, if applicants are large in number) — minimum qualifying standard: 40%
2. Written Test — Part A: MCQ-based Objective Type — minimum 40% required
3. Written Test — Part B: English Computer Typing Test — minimum 90% accuracy required
4. Written Test — Part C: Hindi Computer Typing Test — minimum 85% accuracy required
5. Interview — minimum 30% qualifying standard

Final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks secured in the Written Test and Interview combined.
