Airports Authority of India (AAI) is inviting applications for 38 Apprentice positions at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, for the 2026-27 apprenticeship batch under the Apprentices Act, 1961. If you have a Graduate degree, Diploma or ITI certificate in Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, IT or Technical trades, and are a domicile of West Bengal, you can apply online through the NATS/BOAT or Apprenticeship India portal. Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise formed by an Act of Parliament, responsible for creating, developing and managing civil aviation infrastructure across the country. AAI's office of the Airport Director at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, has released Advertisement No. 1/2026 for a one-year apprenticeship training program across 12 categories – covering Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, IT and Technical streams at Graduate and Diploma level, plus ITI Trade Apprentices in Electrical, Electronics & Mechanics, and Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA). Only candidates who completed their degree/diploma/ITI in 2022 or later are eligible – and only West Bengal domicile holders can apply. This is a great entry point into aviation infrastructure for recent graduates, diploma holders and ITI pass-outs from West Bengal.

Who Can Apply?
Graduate Apprentice:
- Full-time regular 4-year Engineering degree in the relevant stream, recognized by AICTE
Diploma Apprentice:
- Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant stream, recognized by AICTE
ITI Trade Apprentice:
- ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant trade issued by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India
- Domicile: Only Indian citizens who are domicile of West Bengal can apply
- Passing Year: You must have passed your Degree/Diploma/ITI in 2022 or later – earlier passing years are not eligible
- Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship elsewhere, or have 1+ year of work/apprenticeship experience after their qualification, are not eligible.
- You can apply for only one trade/subject – applying for more than one will get your application rejected.
General Instructions: You must self-register on the relevant portal (NATS/BOAT for Graduate/Diploma Apprentice, NAPS/Apprenticeship India for ITI Trade Apprentice) before applying – no other mode of correspondence or application will be considered at all. The number of candidates to be selected is only indicative and can change without further notice. AAI is not bound to offer you a regular or contract job after this apprenticeship, and this training program places no job or placement obligation on AAI.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 26 years old as on 24 August 2026.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India rules.
Salary (Stipend)
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 15,000 per month (Rs. 8,850 from AAI + Rs. 6,150 Government share under the DBT scheme)
- Diploma Apprentice: Rs. 12,000 per month (Rs. 6,550 from AAI + Rs. 5,450 Government share under the DBT scheme)
- ITI Trade Apprentice (Electrical / Electronics & Mechanics): Rs. 10,560 per month, paid fully by AAI
- ITI Trade Apprentice (COPA): Rs. 9,600 per month, paid fully by AAI
Application Fee
- No application fee is charged for any category.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection happens in these stages:
- Merit List: Based on the percentage of marks you scored in your qualifying Degree/Diploma/ITI certificate.
- Interview / Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are informed only through their registered email ID.
- Medical Fitness: You need a fitness certificate from a Government or PSU Medical Officer at the time of joining.
Your selection is provisional until your certificates are authenticated and your documents are verified. It is entirely your responsibility to keep your APAAR ID updated and get it verified with your regional board or office.

Responsibilities
- Assist engineers and technicians with day-to-day maintenance work in your assigned trade
- Learn hands-on skills in civil, electrical, electronics, IT or technical operations at the airport
- Follow safety protocols while working around airport infrastructure and equipment
- Support senior staff during inspection, testing and repair tasks
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and work completed
- Attend training sessions and workshops as part of the apprenticeship program
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to your supervisor
