AAI ATC Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Airports Authority of India (AAI) is engaging retired Short Service Commission Officers (SSCOs) as consultants to support Air Traffic Services at joint user defence airfields. The engagement brings officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard into a civilian aviation support role on a full-time contract. Your assignment will be linked to the operational needs of the airfield where you are deployed.

The notice covers Pune, Kanpur, Purnea, Goa Dabolim, Port Blair and Darbhanga airports. Pune and Port Blair are listed for Surface Movement Control (SMC), while Goa Dabolim includes both SMC and Air Traffic Control (ATC) assignments. Each airport has a separate post code in the notice, which you need to identify in your application.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract duration: The initial engagement lasts one year. Extensions may be offered for one year at a time, with a maximum combined tenure of five years, subject to the notice’s extension age ceiling.
• Exclusive engagement: You must work full time for this assignment. Taking up another assignment during the contract is not permitted.
• Written agreement: AAI and the selected consultant will sign a contract setting out the terms of the engagement. Read these terms before accepting the offer.
• Leave: You receive 1.5 days of leave for each completed month of service. Unused leave cannot be carried into the next calendar year or exchanged for cash.
• Attendance: You must record attendance daily at your reporting location. Absence beyond permitted leave and notified holidays leads to proportionate deductions from your payment.
• Unauthorised absence: AAI may end the engagement if you remain absent for more than three working days without informing your supervising authority.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the arrangement with one month’s notice or payment in place of that notice, as specified in the contract terms.
• Service-related incidents: The notice says AAI will not be responsible for compensation for death, injury or illness attributable to services performed under the contract.
• Travel arrangements: The recruitment terms do not provide travel or daily allowance for attending verification or interview, joining, or completing the assignment. Official-tour provisions are stated separately in the allowance terms.
• Recruitment changes: AAI may tighten its screening criteria if it receives many applications. It also retains the right to change, postpone, withdraw or cancel the engagement notice.
