National Testing Agency (NTA) is hiring 1 General Manager - Human Resources (GM-HR) on contract basis at its New Delhi Head Office. If you have an MBA or PG degree in HR with 12+ years of experience, you can apply. Applications must be sent by email within 15 days of the advertisement (last date around 01 June 2026). The National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a notification for the engagement of one General Manager - Human Resources on contract basis. NTA conducts major exams like JEE (Main), NEET (UG), UGC-NET, CUET, CMAT and GPAT for crores of candidates every year. The contract is for 3 years, extendable based on performance. Senior HR leaders from corporate, PSU or government background can apply.
Who Can Apply?
Essential Qualifications
- Master's Degree: MBA / Post-Graduate Degree / Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, HR & Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, or an allied discipline (minimum 2-year full-time programme)
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Additional law qualifications (with focus on labour/employment law) are an advantage
- Academic Record: You must have a consistently good academic record
Experience Required
- Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience in Human Resources
- At least 3 years at senior HR leadership level (HR Head / Business HR Head / Senior HRBP) in a medium-to-large organisation
- Demonstrated experience of independently managing the end-to-end HR function for an organisation or business unit of at least 500+ employees
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with Government of India, State Governments, PSUs or autonomous bodies (FR/SR, CCS Rules, CDA Rules, deputation norms)
- Managing a mixed workforce of regular, deputation, contract and project employees
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/HRMS platforms (GreytHR, HROne, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday)
- HR transformation and digitisation of HR workflows
- Certifications like SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, HRCI or equivalent

- Preferably below 50 years as on the last date of application

- You will get a consolidated monthly remuneration, commensurate with your qualifications, experience and industry benchmarks
- The exact amount will be decided by the competent authority and is negotiable for the right candidate
- Engagement is purely contractual - no right for regular appointment or absorption in NTA
Selection Process
The selection will be done in 2 stages:
- Shortlisting: Based on your qualifications, experience and suitability for the position. NTA reserves the right to fix criteria and limit the number of candidates called for interview.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before a Selection Committee constituted by the competent authority.
The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and binding.

Responsibilities
- Develop and run NTA's HR strategy and multi-year people plan aligned to the examination calendar
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for regular, contractual and project-based positions in line with Government rules
- Oversee monthly payroll, EPF, ESIC, TDS, statutory remittances and employee benefits administration
- Run the annual performance management cycle with goal-setting, appraisal, normalisation and feedback
- Coordinate deputation of officers from Central Government, State Governments and PSUs
- Author and publish HR policies covering recruitment, deputation, compensation, POSH and disciplinary action
- Serve as the nodal officer for POSH and ensure compliance with CCS (CCA) Rules and labour laws
- Lead HRIS implementation to digitise HR workflows and enable employee self-service
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBA / PG Degree / PG Diploma in HR, HR & Industrial Relations, Personnel Management or allied (2-year full-time) + Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualification
Additional law qualifications with focus on labour/employment law; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/HRCI certifications
