Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is hiring 22 Medical Officers (BAMS) on a contractual basis under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). If you have a BAMS degree from a recognised university and are registered with the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine, you can apply by attending a walk-in interview. The walk-in interview is on 22 April 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the NMMC Health Department office in CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai. NMMC Medical Officer (BAMS) Recruitment 2026 – 22 Posts

Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), through its Ekatmik Arogya Kutumb Kalyan Sanstha under the 15th Finance Commission's Urban Health Strengthening Initiative, is filling vacant Medical Officer posts at Urban Health and Wellness Centres across Navi Mumbai. These posts are purely contractual for 6 months (renewable) and are NOT permanent state government positions. BAMS-qualified doctors with government or private sector experience are preferred. If MBBS candidates are not available, BAMS degree holders are appointed as Medical Officers at CPHC-guided rates.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have a B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree from a university recognised by the government.
  • Registration: You must be registered with the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine (MCIM) – this is mandatory.
  • Experience: Experience in a government, semi-government, or private institution in a related field is required. Only post-qualification experience is counted.
  • Computer Knowledge: You must hold a valid MSCIT certificate.
  • Domicile: You must be a resident of Maharashtra. A domicile certificate issued by a competent authority is required.
  • Small Family Norm: Candidates with more than 2 children born after 23 July 2020 are not eligible to apply under National Health Mission posts.

Age Limit

  • Open / General Category: Maximum age 38 years as on the last date of application.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/VJ-NT/SBC/SEBC/EWS): Maximum age 43 years.
  • Age is calculated as on the date of the walk-in interview (22 April 2026) as per the Maharashtra General Administration Department circular of 25 April 2016.

Salary

  • Monthly pay: Rs. 25,000 per month (fixed contractual pay)
  • PBI (Performance Based Incentive): Rs. 15,000 per month (additional)

  • These are contractual rates as per Central Government CPHC guidelines. No other allowances or government pay scale benefits apply. The post is not a regular/permanent government post.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through direct walk-in interview. No written exam is conducted.

  1. Document Screening: Original documents (educational certificates, MCIM registration, experience certificates, identity proof, caste certificate, domicile, etc.) will be checked between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on 22 April 2026.
  2. Walk-in Interview: Candidates whose documents pass the screening will be interviewed on the same day.
  3. Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on interview performance and educational merit. Selected candidates will be assigned to Urban Health and Wellness Centres (CPHC) where vacancies exist.
  4. Appointment Letter: Candidates on the merit list who have vacancies at a CPHC in their name will receive an appointment letter. Joining must happen within 7 days of the appointment order being issued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary healthcare services at the assigned Urban Health and Wellness Centre (CPHC) in Navi Mumbai
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients using Ayurvedic and modern primary care protocols
  • Maintain patient records, prescriptions, and health data as per NUHM guidelines
  • Conduct health awareness and preventive health programmes in the assigned urban area
  • Coordinate with other health staff (nurses, MPWs, ANMs) for smooth day-to-day clinic operations
  • Report daily patient data and submit monthly health reports to the Health Department
  • Participate in national health programmes including maternal health, child immunisation, and TB/leprosy control activities
