RTMNU has released Advertisement No. RTMNU/GA/657 dated 24 July 2026 to fill 139 temporary Assistant Professor posts on a contractual basis for the 2026-27 academic session. These posts are spread across more than 70 subjects in the Faculties of Humanities, Science & Technology, Commerce & Management, and Inter-disciplinary Studies, plus the university's conducted colleges and centres of specialized studies. There is no written exam — selection is based purely on your academic record and interview performance. Both freshers with a NET/SET qualification and experienced Ph.D. holders can apply, and you must submit a separate application for each post you want.

Category-wise reservation for the 139 posts: SC 18, ST 10, VJ(A) 4, NT(B) 3, NT(C) 5, NT(D) 3, SBC 3, OBC 26, SEBC 14, EWS 14, and Open 39. 30% of posts are reserved for women, 5% for sportspersons, and 6 posts (4%) are reserved for Persons with Disabilities covering blindness, hearing impairment and locomotor/other disabilities.

Who Can Apply?

For Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education & Mass Communication:

• You need a Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian university or an accredited foreign university.
• You must have also cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent test like SET, or hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC rules (certain Ph.D. holders are exempt from NET/SET subject to specific conditions).
• Candidates with a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU are also eligible without NET/SET.

For Business Management (Faculty of Commerce & Management):

• You need a Bachelor's degree in any discipline plus a Master's degree in Business Administration/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com with First Class, along with 2 years of professional experience after your Master's degree.

For Fine Arts:

• You need a Master's degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject plus NET/SET/Ph.D., or you can qualify as a professional artist with a Bachelor's degree, a 3-year Post Graduate Diploma from the National School of Drama (or similar institute), and 5 years of acclaimed performance at regional, national or international level.

For Pharmaceutical Sciences:

• You need a B.Pharm degree, registration as a pharmacist under the applicable Pharmacy Law, and a First Class Master's degree in the relevant specialization (Pharmaceutics/QA, Pharmaceutical Chemistry/QA, Pharmacology or Pharmacognosy).

For Inter Institutional Computer Centre:

• You need B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S. (First Class) in a relevant branch, or B.E./B.Tech and MCA (First Class), or a 3-year Graduation with Mathematics plus MCA (First Class) and 2 years of relevant experience.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for all posts is 59 years as on the last date of application (10 August 2026).
• Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is given at the Bachelor's and Master's level to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently-abled candidates. Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's before 19 September 1991 also get a 5% marks relaxation.
• Reserved category candidates must have Maharashtra domicile — reserved category candidates domiciled outside Maharashtra are treated as Open category.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000 per month from the date of joining until 30 April 2027.
• This is a fixed contractual pay — you get only 8 casual leaves during the academic session, and no other leave or allowances are permitted.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

RTMNU will select candidates through the following process:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: A list of eligible candidates will be published on the university website after your qualifications are checked.
2. Interview: Your final selection depends on your academic record and performance in the interview. The university may also use a seminar or colloquium as part of the selection method.

There is no written exam for these posts. You must bring three self-attested copies of your submitted application and all supporting documents to the interview — no TA/DA is paid for attending.
