Who Can Apply?

Deputy Registrar

• Qualification: Master's degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and a good academic record.
• Experience: You need either 9 years as Assistant Professor with 3 years in educational administration, comparable higher education/research experience, or 5 years as Assistant Registrar in Grade Pay Rs. 5400 or equivalent.
• Preferred: Management, Engineering, or Law qualification. For the Finance and Accounts earmarked post, a Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant qualification is preferred.

Technical Officer

• Computer stream: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking or allied fields, or MCA, with first class or equivalent grade.
• Electronics stream: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Electronics Engineering or allied fields with first class or equivalent grade.
• Chemical stream: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences or allied fields with first class or equivalent grade.
• Institute staff route: Serving Technical Assistant staff of the institute may apply if they meet the NIT Recruitment Rules service conditions.
• Preferred: Relevant work experience in scientific equipment maintenance, system administration, software development, fabrication support, or a Ph.D. in the relevant field.

Executive Engineer (Civil)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or allied discipline with first class or equivalent grade and a good academic record.
• Institute staff route: NITC employees with qualifying Assistant Engineer service under the prescribed grade pay may also apply.
• Preferred: Experience in repair and maintenance activities.

Medical Officer

• Qualification: MBBS or equivalent qualification included under the Indian Medical Council Act schedule, with registration in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.
• Preferred: Postgraduate qualification, preferably MD in General Medicine or equivalent.

Age Limit

• Deputy Registrar: Maximum age 50 years.
• Technical Officer: Maximum age 35 years.
• Executive Engineer (Civil): Maximum age 35 years.
• Medical Officer: Maximum age 35 years.
• Age reference: Eligibility will be counted as on the last date of online application, 16 June 2026.
• Relaxation: SC/ST get up to 5 years, OBC-NCL get up to 3 years, and PwD/Ex-Servicemen/NIT regular staff get relaxation as per Government of India/NIT rules where applicable.

Salary

• Deputy Registrar: Pay Level 12 under 7th CPC, approximately Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month.
• Technical Officer: Pay Level 10 under 7th CPC, approximately Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• Executive Engineer (Civil): Pay Level 10 under 7th CPC, approximately Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• Medical Officer: Pay Level 10 under 7th CPC, approximately Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, transport allowance, NPS and other benefits as per NIT/Government of India rules.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / Women / PwD / Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 500 per post.
• All other candidates: Rs. 1,000 per post.
• Payment mode: Online payment through the NITC recruitment portal. Bank or transaction charges are extra.

Selection Process

NITC may use written exam, skill test, interview, document verification, or any other suitable test to shortlist and assess applicants. The exact scheme will be published on the recruitment portal. The tentative schedule for the examination/interview is the first week of July 2026.
