NCL Assistant Foreman Trainee Recruitment 2026 - 270 Posts

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has released notification for 270 Assistant Foreman (Trainee) Grade-C posts. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a Diploma in Engineering to join one of India's leading coal mining companies. NCL operates in Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh) and Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh).

Total Vacancies: 270 Posts

• Assistant Foreman (E&T) Trainee: 14 posts
• Assistant Foreman (Mechanical) Trainee: 108 posts (87 Excavation + 21 E&M)
• Assistant Foreman (Electrical) Trainee: 148 posts (74 Excavation + 74 E&M)

Category-wise: UR-116, EWS-25, SC-51, ST-12, OBC-66. PwBD: 7 posts. Ex-Servicemen: 25 posts.

Who Can Apply

• You need Matriculation (10th) pass AND a 3-year full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering branch
• E&T post: Diploma in Electronics Engineering
• Mechanical post: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical post: Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• B.E./B.Tech in relevant branch is also accepted
• Distance learning or part-time diplomas are NOT accepted

Age Limit (as on 05-03-2026)

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 30 years
• SC/ST: +5 years, OBC (NCL): +3 years, PwBD: +10 years

Salary

Basic pay of Rs. 47,330.25 per month as per NCWA XI (National Coal Wage Agreement). You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Subsidy, Medical Facility, Attendance Bonus, and other allowances.

Training Period

• E&T Trainee: 1 year training
• Mechanical/Electrical Trainee: 2 years training

After successful training, you will be designated as Assistant Foreman Grade-C.

Selection Process

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) - 100 MCQs, 100 marks, 90 minutes
2. Document Verification
3. Medical Examination

There is no interview. Selection is purely based on CBT marks.

Exam Pattern

• Section A (Technical): 70 questions, 70 marks
• Section B (General): 30 questions, 30 marks
• No negative marking
• Cut-off: UR/EWS 50%, SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM 40%

Posting Location

Selected candidates will be posted at NCL mines in Singrauli District (Madhya Pradesh) and Sonbhadra District (Uttar Pradesh). Transfer to other Coal India subsidiaries is possible.

• Supervise mining operations and maintenance work at coal mines
• Operate and maintain heavy mining equipment and machinery
• Check electrical and mechanical systems for faults and carry out repairs
• Monitor safety standards and ensure compliance with mining regulations
• Prepare daily reports on production, maintenance, and safety
• Follow all safety rules as per the Mines Act and Coal Mines Regulations
• Work with senior officers and team members to meet production targets
• Report any safety hazards or equipment failures to supervisors immediately
