The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has invited online applications for the post of Assistant Professor (Physics) in government colleges under the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh (Advertisement No. 23/2025). This is a permanent government teaching job with a fixed Level-10 pay scale. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Master's Degree in Physics with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognised university.
• Eligibility Test: You must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR), SET or SLET. Candidates who hold a Ph.D as per UGC regulations are exempted from NET/SET/SLET.
• 5% relaxation in marks is allowed for reserved category candidates as per state rules.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 40 years of age.
• Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) and Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates as per state government rules.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a starting basic pay of Rs. 57,700 per month under Academic Pay Level-10 of the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process

The selection is done in the following stages:

1. Written Examination: A subject-based exam on Physics to shortlist candidates.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview that tests subject knowledge and personality.
3. Document Verification: Verification of original certificates and eligibility documents.

Final selection is based on combined performance in the written exam and interview.
