The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released Advertisement No. 27/2025 to fill 107 Assistant Professor (Mathematics) posts for government colleges run by the MP Higher Education Department. This is a regular, permanent teaching post with a two-year probation period. Candidates with a PG degree in Mathematics or its allied subjects (Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Science, Computational Maths, Industrial Maths) and NET/SET can apply online.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification: You must have a Master's degree (PG) in Mathematics (or an allied subject such as Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Science, Computational Maths, or Industrial Maths) with at least 55% marks from a recognised Indian university (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates).
NET/SET: You must have qualified NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR) or SET/SLET. Only the MP SET (and equivalent) is accepted; SET/SLET of other states is not valid.
PhD holders: If you hold a PhD as per UGC 2009 regulations (meeting all the stated conditions), you are exempted from NET/SET.
You must hold all required qualifications by the last date of application.

Age Limit

You should have completed 21 years but not completed 40 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
Age Relaxation: Maximum age relaxation is allowed for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC, women, PwD, etc.) as per the rules in Appendix-1 of the notification.
Reservation and age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/women/PwD apply only to candidates who are original residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates from other states are treated as unreserved.

Salary

Entry pay: Rs. 57,700 per month under Academic Level 10.

Selection Process

The selection is done in the following stages:

Written Examination (OMR-based, objective): An objective-type exam on the Mathematics subject with negative marking. The exam scheme and syllabus are published on the MPPSC website.
Interview: Candidates equal to three times (3x) the number of vacancies in each category (plus tie-mark candidates) are called for interview.
Document Verification: Original certificates are checked before appointment.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the total of written exam marks and interview marks. Selected candidates are appointed on a two-year probation.
