Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is hiring 2 Assistant Directors in the Statistics wing of the Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Who Can Apply?
You must be a citizen of India and meet both the educational and other criteria below.
Educational Qualification
- Postgraduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Agriculture from a recognised university.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications is mandatory in addition to the PG degree.
- You must hold the qualification on or before 03 September 2026; degrees acquired after this date will not be valid.
Other Eligibility
- Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates serving in Government / non-Government service must produce an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their employer.
- You must not have more than two living children with the second child born on or after 26 January 2001 (twins as second birth are exempted).
- Candidates convicted of any offence against women are not eligible.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 40 years
- Reference date: 01 January 2027
- Maximum age relaxation (SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwD / Government employees / MP women — UR or Reserved / MP Home Guards / MP Municipal Corporation): 5 years (only for MP domicile)
- Ex-Servicemen: deduction of full earlier defence service from age, but resulting age must not exceed the upper limit by more than 3 years.
- Total age relaxation in any case cannot exceed 45 years.
- Candidates from other states will be considered as Unreserved for age purposes — no relaxation is allowed.
Salary
- Pay Scale: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 with Grade Pay Rs. 5,400 (Pay Matrix Level 9, 7th CPC).
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travelling Allowance and other benefits as per Government of Madhya Pradesh rules.
- The post comes with a 2-year probation period after appointment.
Application Fee
- The application fee is paid online through the MPOnline portal using Credit Card / Debit Card or Net Banking, or in cash at any authorised MPOnline kiosk.
- The exact fee amount is published in Appendix 02 of the notification on mppsc.mp.gov.in.
- You will additionally pay a Rs. 50 correction fee per session if you use the form-correction window between 08 August 2026 and 05 September 2026.
- The Commission will not refund any excess or wrong payment made through MPOnline.
Selection Process
Selection is based on a personal interview if the number of applicants is up to 500. If applications cross 500, MPPSC will hold a written screening exam first.
- Application screening: MPPSC verifies your educational and other documents.
- Written Examination (only if applications > 500): shortlists three times the number of vacancies (plus tied candidates) for the interview based on screening exam marks.
- Interview (100 marks): minimum qualifying marks are 41 for Unreserved and 31 for Reserved / PwD candidates. Up to 12 candidates are called per single vacancy.
- Document Verification: originals checked at the time of interview.
Final merit is prepared based on interview marks (or interview + screening marks if a written exam is held). The final result follows the 87% main + 13% provisional formula per GAD circular dated 29 September 2022 pending the OBC reservation litigation.

- Register / log in and fill in your personal, educational, and reservation details exactly as per your 10th marksheet.
- Upload your scanned passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
- Pay the application fee online via the MPOnline gateway and confirm the "Payment Done" status before submitting.
- Submit the form between 04 August 2026 and 03 September 2026 (06:00 PM).
- If needed, edit your form during the correction window from 08 August 2026 to 05 September 2026 by paying Rs. 50 per correction session.
- Take a printout of the submitted form and keep it safely along with the fee receipt.
- Send the hard copy of the application along with all self-attested documents by post or in person to the MPPSC office at Residency Area, Indore by 16 September 2026 (06:00 PM).

Responsibilities
- Compile and analyse statistical data on crop production, area, and yield for the Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department.
- Prepare monthly, seasonal, and annual statistical reports on agriculture and farmer welfare schemes.
- Coordinate with district statistical officers and field staff for accurate field-level data collection.
- Use computer applications and statistical software to process large agricultural datasets.
- Review and validate data submitted by sub-divisional offices before consolidation at the state level.
- Support policy formulation by providing trend analysis and projections to senior officers.
- Maintain departmental statistical publications, registers, and digital archives.
- Assist auditors and external agencies during data audits and central scheme reviews.

Minimum Qualification
Postgraduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Agriculture from a recognised university, plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
