LAHD-SSRB is hiring 114 Teachers for the School Education Department in Leh District, Ladakh. Leh Autonomous Hill Development-Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LAHD-SSRB) Teacher Recruitment 2026 - 114 Posts

LAHD-SSRB has released Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2026 for 114 Teacher posts across Primary and Upper Primary levels in the School Education Department, UT of Ladakh. The posts are spread across 9 categories covering General, Science, Hindi, Bhoti, Urdu, Arabic and Special Education streams. Only candidates domiciled in Leh District are eligible to apply for these posts. Recruitment is done through an OMR-based written examination followed by document verification.

These vacancies have been indented by the School Education Department to fill teaching positions across government schools in Leh. If you are qualified in a language subject like Bhoti, Urdu or Arabic, note that these categories have very limited seats, so competition may be lower compared to the General stream. Reservation for SC, ST, ALC, EWS, ESM and PwD candidates applies as per the categories reported by the School Education Department for each post.

Who Can Apply?

For Upper Primary Teacher Posts:

• Graduation in the relevant subject (or any discipline for the General stream) from a recognized university
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or B.Ed (Special Education), or a 3-year integrated B.Ed/M.Ed
• Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper II qualified

For Primary Teacher Posts:

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university
• 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education, or 2-year Diploma in Special Education, or a 3-year integrated B.Ed/M.Ed
• Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper I qualified

Domicile of Leh District (Ladakh) with a valid Domicile Certificate is mandatory for all posts.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/ALC candidates can apply up to 45 years, PwBD candidates up to 50 years, and PwBD+SC/ST/ALC candidates up to 55 years.
• Government employees with 3+ years of continuous service can apply up to 40 years (Unreserved) or 45 years (SC/ST/ALC).
• Ex-servicemen get age relaxation equal to their military service period, subject to a maximum of 3 years beyond the upper age limit.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month under Level-5 of the pay matrix.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per UT of Ladakh government rules.

Keep in mind that the application fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances, even if your application is later rejected.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. OMR-Based Written Examination: Paper I (100 questions, 100 marks, common for all posts) and Paper II (100 questions, 100 marks, subject-specific). Total 200 marks, with 1 hour 30 minutes per paper (2 hours for scribe-eligible candidates). Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. You need at least 20% qualifying marks in each paper.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents for verification.

2. Click "Register" to complete your one-time registration with your basic details, photo and signature.
3. Login using your user ID and password, then click "Apply Now" against the post.
4. Fill in the online application form carefully.
5. Upload the required documents.
6. Pay the Rs. 200 application fee online.
7. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
