LAHD-SSRB Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Leh Autonomous Hill Development-Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LAHD-SSRB) is filling district cadre posts in Leh for several departments of the Union Territory of Ladakh administration. The list runs from drivers, technicians and orderlies to nurses, pharmacists, Patwaris and Junior Assistants, so there is something for 10th pass, 12th pass and graduate candidates alike.

The biggest point: these posts are only for residents of the erstwhile Leh district who hold a Ladakh domicile certificate. Most seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates, and the board only runs the selection — the hiring departments decide the vacancies and the reservation roster.

Posts and Disciplines

• Power, rural and works posts (Matric level): Driver Grade-II, Technician-III trades (Electrician, Wireman, Welder, Turner, Cable Jointer, Mechanic, Plant Attendant and more) in the Power Development Department, and Work Supervisor-I in PW(R&B), PHE and I&FC.
• Support posts (Matric level): Orderly, Chowkidar, Messenger, Junior Ward Boy, Mali, Bearer/Butler, Attendant and Safaiwala across Industries, PHE, Revenue, Health, Agriculture and PW(R&B) departments.
• Community health (Matric level): MPHW (Male) and Female MPHW in the Health and Medical Education Department.
• Paramedical posts (10+2 level): Junior Nurse, Junior Pharmacist, Laboratory Assistant, X-ray Assistant, Dental Assistant, Ophthalmic Assistant, Theatre Assistant, Medical Record Technician and Basic Health Worker.
• Animal husbandry (10+2 level): Veterinary Pharmacist and Stock Assistant in the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments.
• Rural development (10+2 level): VLW/MPW in the Rural Development Department.
• Graduate posts: Patwari in the Revenue Department, and Junior Assistant/Ledger Clerk in PDD, Revenue and PW(R&B), which also needs a typing test on a computer.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: you must be a resident of the erstwhile Leh district and hold a Domicile Certificate in the Annexure-V format issued under the Ladakh domicile rules of 2025.
• One reservation claim: if you qualify under two categories (for example ST and ALC), you must pick only one in the form, and the choice cannot be changed later.
• Horizontal quotas: the notice applies 6% for ex-servicemen, 4% for persons with disabilities and 4% for outstanding sportspersons, as decided by the hiring departments.
• Distance-learning degrees: open and distance learning degrees count only if UGC/DEB approved for the period you studied; engineering, medical, nursing and pharmacy degrees through ODL are not accepted.
• No result-awaited candidates: you must hold the qualification by the closing date; if your final result is pending, do not apply.
• Exam centres: only at Leh, Changthang, Nubra and Sham district headquarters.
• In-service candidates: bring a No Objection Certificate through proper channel at document verification.
• Fraud warning: the board never asks for money beyond the application fee; report any such call or e-mail.

Application Submission Notes

Apply only online on the LAHD-SSRB portal; postal, hand or e-mail applications are rejected. First complete the one-time registration, then log in and click "Apply Now" against the post. Each post category needs its own application and fee, so applying for Orderly and Driver means two forms.

You do not post a printout to the board, but keep a signed printed copy — you must show it at document verification.
