AIAIC Assistant Section Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra wants an Assistant Section Officer for its new Artificial Intelligence and Agritech Innovation Centre (AIAIC) in Mumbai. AIAIC is a state-level office set up through a Government Resolution of 19 June 2026 to put the MahaAgri-AI Policy 2025-2029 into action. This is not an open recruitment — the post is filled on deputation, so only people already working for the Maharashtra Government or its subordinate offices can apply.

If you work in Mantralaya or a subordinate field office in the same or a lower pay scale and you want to work in an office that is bringing AI tools into farming, this circular is meant for you. The department has sent it to the establishment desks of all Mantralaya departments, so your own office should also be able to forward it to you.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: You must already be in Maharashtra Government service or a subordinate office, in an equivalent or lower pay scale.
• Lower pay scales allowed: The General Administration Department could not provide an Assistant Section Officer, so under paragraph 4 of the 19 June 2026 resolution the department is also considering eligible staff from lower pay scales.
• Tenure: The deputation is for 3 years at first, as per General Administration Department rules.
• Place of work: The AIAIC office at Maker Tower, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai.
• Clean record: You must attach a no-objection certificate stating that no departmental inquiry or court case is pending against you.
• Parent office consent: The form asks whether your office will relieve you if you are selected, and it also asks for details of any earlier deputation and the date you returned to your parent cadre. Talk to your cadre controlling authority early.
