Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking, has issued Vacancy Notice No. DE/P/08/2026 dated 27/05/2026 for the post of Works Manager in Senior Scale on deputation basis at its Vadalapudi Workshop, Visakhapatnam. The normal term of deputation is 3 years, extendable up to 5 years. KRCL has been permitted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31/12/2026. Only Mechanical Officers from Indian Railways or Railway PSUs are eligible.

Who Can Apply?

• Service: Mechanical Officer of Indian Railways or Railway PSU
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as officer
• Mode: Application must be forwarded by Railway Board (for Zonal Railways/PUs officers) at least 7 days prior to the last date

Age Limit

• Maximum age: Below 56 years as on the date of notification (27/05/2026)

Salary

• Scale of Pay: Senior Scale (SS) as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-11
• The officer will draw pay and allowances as per DoPT instructions, which would have been admissible from time to time on the Railways
• Plus deputation (duty) allowance as per applicable rules
• Retention of Railway accommodation during deputation tenure as per Railway Board's policy RBE No. 027/2026 dated 23/03/2026

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Application Forwarding: Applications of officers working in Zonal Railways/PUs must be forwarded with the approval of the Competent Authority in the Ministry through Railway Board.
2. Shortlisting: Eligible suitable applicants will be short-listed on the basis of eligibility and experience, if required.
3. Selection Criteria: As per Ministry of Railway, Railway Board's letter No. 2017/E(O)II/41/5 dated 25.05.2017 and No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 07.03.2018.

4. Get your application forwarded by your Zonal Railway/PU to Railway Board with the approval of the Competent Authority.
5. Railway Board will forward your application to KRCL at least 7 days before the last date.

7. Ensure the application reaches KRCL by 22 June 2026.

KRCL will consider applications of only those officers whose applications are forwarded by Railway Board.

• Handle Periodic Overhaul (POH) and Non-Periodic Overhaul (NPOH) of different types of wagons at Vadalapudi Workshop
• Manage manpower, material, safety and infrastructure at Vadalapudi Workshop
• Supervise workshop operations and ensure timely completion of overhaul targets
• Maintain safety standards and quality control of workshop activities
• Coordinate with CPM/VDPD and CME/KRCL on workshop and engineering matters
• Prepare workshop performance reports and infrastructure development plans
• Carry out any other duties assigned by CPM/VDPD and CME/KRCL
