Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) is a Government of India undertaking that builds and operates the coastal railway line connecting Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. Its Vadalapudi Workshop near Visakhapatnam carries out POH (Periodic Overhauling) and NPOH (Non-Periodic Overhauling) of railway wagons for Indian Railways, and reliable wagon turnaround here directly affects freight and passenger service along the East Coast. KRCL has issued Vacancy Notice No. DE/P/10/2026 for one Chief Project Manager post in JAG/SG scale on deputation at its Vadalapudi Workshop in Visakhapatnam. The deputation term is 3 years, extendable up to 5 years. KRCL is exempted from the immediate absorption rule until 31 December 2026, which means you can return to your parent Railway after your tenure. As Chief Project Manager, you would take overall charge of executing wagon overhaul contracts, coordinating manpower and material availability, enforcing safety standards, and working closely with the Zonal Railway to meet the targets Indian Railways has set for Vadalapudi Workshop. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification/Eligibility: IRSME Officer of Indian Railways working in PML-13 of the 7th CPC, OR IRSME Officer working in PML-12 of the 7th CPC, OR Mechanical Officer of Indian Railways/Railway PSU with a minimum of 7 years of service as an Officer, currently working in Senior Scale
• Officers meeting the criteria and currently working in Adhoc JAG/SS will also be considered.
• Routing: Your application must be routed through the proper channel – your Zonal Railway/PU must forward it to the Railway Board at least 7 days before the last date

Note: As per Railway Board letter no. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 08.02.2023, applications of officers working in Zonal Railways/PUs for deputation to Railway PSUs, Autonomous Bodies and other organizations are forwarded only with the approval of the Competent Authority in the Ministry. Age Limit

Salary

• The post carries 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-12 or Level-13, depending on your current pay level.
• You will draw pay and allowances as per DOPT instructions, plus deputation (duty) allowance.
• Railway accommodation can be retained during your deputation tenure as per Railway Board policy RBE No. 027/2026 dated 23.03.2026, as amended from time to time.

KRCL has also been permitted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31 December 2026, so you can return to your parent Railway once your deputation tenure is complete.
