Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna company and India's premier professional electronics company under the Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. 6050/QR/ADV/HR/MS/2026-27 dated 22 July 2026 to engage an Advisor for its Missile Systems SBU in Bengaluru. This is a senior consulting role for someone who has already spent a career designing, developing and testing Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems, and is now looking to continue guiding this work on a contract basis. As Advisor, you will guide SAM system design, development, testing, qualification, production and deployment — working closely with BEL's design teams, testing ranges, and the Armed Forces on future requirements. Only retired scientists and senior officers with hands-on SAM program experience should apply — this is not a fresher or entry-level opening.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc in Electronics (M.E./M.Tech/MS in Aerospace is preferred)
• Background: You should be a retired scientist from a Government Research Laboratory, or have retired from Government service, a PSU, a Research Organisation/Lab, or the Defence Forces at Pay Level 14 or above
• Domain Experience: You need proven experience in SAM Weapon Systems — including the SAM missile, RF Seeker, Ground-based Radar, Control Centre and Launcher — along with knowledge of Flight Mechanics, Control Law, Navigation Systems and System Engineering for Missiles and UAVs
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in FM&CLAW, 6DoF simulations, HILS-based validation, and Guidance & Navigation technologies
• Desirable: Experience across the full SAM system life cycle including CEMILAC certification, and patents or paper publications in Navigation and Guidance

Note: If you are currently bound by a Confidentiality-cum-Non-Compete agreement with your previous employer, you are not eligible to apply. Selected Advisors must sign a Confidentiality-cum-Non-Compete Agreement with BEL upon joining.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 62 years as on 1 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Relevant post-retirement work experience may be considered for additional age relaxation, at the discretion of BEL's Selection Committee.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly pay equal to your last drawn Basic Pay at the time of superannuation from your previous Government organisation.
• If your contract is extended, your pay goes up by 5% every year — and by an extra 5% per year if you have gained relevant experience in other organisations after retirement.
• You will also get a conveyance reimbursement of Rs. 8,000 per month if you do not use the company-provided car.
• The role works in Hybrid Mode — you can work from Bengaluru or from home, with a minimum of 8 working days a month required in Bengaluru.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

BEL will select the Advisor through these steps:

1. Shortlisting: Your application is screened against the eligibility criteria listed in the advertisement.
2. Interview/Personal Interaction: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview.
3. Vigilance and Disciplinary Clearance: You must be clear from any vigilance or disciplinary angle at the time of your retirement.

The final result is published on the BEL website, and selected candidates get a provisional offer of engagement by email.
