The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has published notification Category No. 057/2026 to fill 1 vacancy of Pre-Primary Teacher (Kannada) in the Kasaragod district. This is a district-wise General Recruitment, issued because qualified candidates were not available under the earlier notification (Category No. 608/2024 of December 2024). This is a Kannada-medium teaching post, so only candidates who passed SSLC with Kannada as first language will be appointed.

Kerala PSC will prepare a Ranked List for Kasaragod district from this notification. The list stays in force for a minimum of one year and up to three years, and any fresh vacancies reported during that time are also filled from it. This is a good entry point if you want a permanent government teaching job close to the Kannada-speaking areas of northern Kerala.

Who Can Apply?

You need to meet all of the requirements below.

Basic Qualification

• A pass in the SSLC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala, or its equivalent.

Training Certificate (any one)

• A Nursery Training Certificate from the Kerala Government or the former Travancore-Cochin / Travancore / Cochin Government.
• OR a Nursery Training Certificate from the State Council for Child Welfare.
• OR a Balasevika Training Certificate from the State Council for Child Welfare.
• OR a Pre-Primary Teachers Training Certificate from the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala.

Language and District

• You must have passed SSLC with Kannada as the first language. Only such candidates will be appointed.
• Candidates who also hold TTC or TSLC with the above qualifications get preference.
• Apply for the Kasaragod district and note that district in your online application.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 44 years old.
• Only candidates born between 2 January 1982 and 1 January 2008 (both dates included) can apply.
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST and OBC candidates get the usual age relaxation, but the maximum age after relaxation cannot exceed 50 years.
• Wives of Jawans and First Class Scouts and Guides get preference as per the special concessions in the notification.

Salary

• The pay scale for this post is Rs. 35,600 to Rs. 75,400 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is done by Kerala PSC on a district (Kasaragod) basis:

1. Written / OMR / Online Test (if held): If Kerala PSC conducts a test, you must submit a confirmation through your One Time Registration profile. Only those who confirm can download the admission ticket in the last 15 days before the test.
2. Ranked List: A district-wise Ranked List for Kasaragod is prepared, valid for a minimum of one year and up to three years.
3. Document Verification: You must produce original documents proving qualification, age, first language and community when called.

Note: A candidate appointed in Kasaragod cannot get a working arrangement, deputation or transfer to another district for at least ten years, and promotion is limited to that district as per the rules.
