Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), through its Onattukara Regional Agricultural Research Station in Kayamkulam, has released a notification for 1 Assistant Professor post in Plant Pathology on a contract basis. No online application is needed — you simply need to attend the walk-in interview with your documents. The appointment is purely provisional for one year, or until a regular candidate is appointed, whichever comes earlier, and does not carry any claim to permanency at KAU. This is a good opportunity for candidates with a postgraduate degree in Plant Pathology who want teaching and research experience at a Kerala Agricultural University research station.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's Degree (M.Sc Ag) in Plant Pathology recognized by Kerala Agricultural University with at least 55% marks, along with NET qualification.
• If no NET-qualified candidates apply, those holding just a Master's Degree in Plant Pathology will also be considered.
• Desirable: A Ph.D and teaching experience in Plant Pathology will count in your favour.

Age Limit

• You should not be above 40 years of age as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Available for eligible categories as per existing Government of Kerala rules.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 44,100 per month for this post.
• This is a fixed consolidated remuneration for the contract period — no separate DA or HRA is mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring self-attested copies and original certificates proving your age, caste, qualification and experience.
2. Written Test (if needed): If there are too many applicants, a written test will be held first to shortlist candidates.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by the selection panel.

Note: no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
