JRHMS Specialist MO Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jharkhand Rural Health Mission Society (JRHMS) has published the state health department's notice for Non-Teaching Specialist Medical Officers at government health facilities across Jharkhand. These are contractual engagements linked to individual hospitals and specialties. The notice uses facility-wise bidding, so the hospital you choose is an important part of your application.

• Medical specialties: the notice covers Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Dermatology within the same Specialist Medical Officer recruitment.
• Surgical and related specialties: Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), and Anesthesia are included.
• Diagnostic and forensic specialties: Radiology, Pathology and Forensic Science also appear in the notice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: your engagement continues only until a regular Specialist Medical Officer is posted against the facility or post, subject to the agreement. It does not give you a claim to regular appointment, absorption, seniority or the benefits of regular government service.
• Tenure: the initial agreement may cover 3 years, but the allotment runs with the financial year. Renewal needs mutual consent and remains subject to the arrival of a regular appointee.
• Fixed facility: the allotted facility is non-transferable. Review its location carefully because you are bidding for service there, rather than seeking a general transferable posting.
• Residence: you must use government accommodation when it is available. Otherwise, you should ordinarily live within 3 km of the district hospital, as the service conditions specify.
• Leaving the engagement: you must give 3 months' advance notice or deposit the equivalent pay instead. If your work is unsatisfactory, the department may end the engagement with 1 month's notice or the corresponding payment under the agreement.
• Facility bids: you can quote for up to 3 facilities in one application, with a separate monthly quote for each. Your quoted amount is final for consideration at that facility, so review the bid carefully before submitting.
• Application restrictions: send only one application for this post. Duplicate forms may lead to cancellation, and changes after final submission will ordinarily not be accepted.
• Department discretion: hospital requirements and vacancies may change through later notices. Selection alone does not guarantee appointment or continued engagement, and the department can reject a quote it considers unacceptable.
• Updates: check the official recruitment notices for amendments and further instructions. Attempts to influence the process can lead to rejection of your application.
