JRHMS Specialist Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jharkhand Rural Health Mission Society (JRHMS) is engaging Specialist Medical Officers for National Health Mission programmes in Jharkhand. The Department of Health & Family Welfare is using a facility-based bidding arrangement for these contractual appointments. Your engagement is linked to an allotted hospital and ends when a regular specialist is posted against that position.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Hospital specialties: The notice covers Anesthesia, Dermatology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiology and Surgery.
  • District and sub-divisional hospitals: Annexure I identifies the hospital and specialty together. Locations include Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Khunti, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Pakur, Palamu, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Saraikela, Simdega and West Singhbhum.
  • Ranchi entries: The annexure also names the radiology hub and cardiologist positions at Sadar Hospital, Ranchi. Check the Cardiology clarification noted in the qualification field before choosing those entries.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Facility commitment: Your allotted facility is non-transferable. Consider the location carefully because the agreement attaches your service to that hospital rather than offering a later transfer option.
  • Contract duration: The initial agreement may run for three years. However, the engagement follows the financial year and renewal needs mutual consent; it remains subject to a regular specialist taking over the post.
  • Employment status: This arrangement creates no claim to regular appointment, absorption, seniority or the benefits available to regular government employees. Selection alone does not guarantee appointment or continued engagement.
  • Residence: You must use government accommodation when it is available. Otherwise, the notice normally expects you to live within a radius of 3 km of the District Hospital.
  • Leaving the engagement: You must give three months of advance notice or pay the equivalent amount instead. Read this commitment carefully before accepting a facility.
  • Unsatisfactory service: The department may end the agreement with one month of notice or the corresponding payment, as the agreement allows.
  • Service obligations: Your work follows the facility’s Terms of Reference and the instructions of the responsible authority. The advertisement does not provide a separate detailed duty list for each specialty.
  • Changes to requirements: The department may revise facility requirements, change the number of openings or issue an amendment. Check official updates when making your facility choice.
  • Accuracy and conduct: You are responsible for the information in your application and bid. Attempts to influence the process can lead to rejection, and decisions remain subject to the applicable government rules.
