Indian Navy SSC IT Officer Recruitment 2026

The Indian Navy is hiring 15 Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers in the Executive Branch (Information Technology) for the Jan 2027 Course at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. If you have a B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MSc in Computer Science or IT (or MCA with BCA/B.Sc CS/IT) with at least 60% marks, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 1 June 2026. Selected officers will be inducted as Sub Lieutenant with starting pay Rs. 56,100 per month.

Indian Navy SSC Executive (IT) Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

The Indian Navy has released the notification for 15 Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer posts in the Executive Branch (Information Technology) under the Special Naval Orientation Course commencing in January 2027. The course will be held at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. Only unmarried men and women candidates who are Indian citizens are eligible. The training period is six weeks of Naval Orientation Course followed by professional training at Naval Ships and training establishments.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• You must have at least 60% marks in English in Class 10 or 12.
• You must hold one of these degrees with minimum 60% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA):
  • MSc / BE / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Software Systems / Cyber Security / System Administration & Networking / Computer Systems & Networking / Data Analytics / Artificial Intelligence, OR
  • MCA with BCA or B.Sc (Computer Science / Information Technology).
• Final-year students can also apply provided they complete the qualifying degree with 60% marks by the deadline.

Other Requirements

• You must be unmarried — both at the time of application and during training.
• You must be an Indian citizen as per Government of India rules.
• The university/college must be recognised by UGC, AICTE, IIT Act, NITSER Act, IIIT Act, or AIU.
• No equivalent stream other than those mentioned above will be considered.

Age Limit

• You must be born between 1 January 2002 and 1 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).
• NCC Bonus: NCC 'C' certificate holders (Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum 'B' Grade) get a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting. The certificate must be dated on or after 1 January 2024 and you must have served at least 2 academic years in Senior Division NCC.

Salary

• The basic pay for Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs. 56,100 per month (Pay Level 10).
• You will also get Military Service Pay (MSP), Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other allowances as per Government rules.
• Compulsory membership of Naval Group Insurance Scheme (NGIS) for insurance cover during and after service.
• Gratuity, leave entitlements, and other officer perks as per extant regulations.

Application Fee

• No application fee for any category. Indian Navy does not charge a fee for SSC IT entry.

Selection Process

The selection happens in 3 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on normalised marks in the qualifying degree (formula on joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf). For B.E./B.Tech students, marks up to the 5th semester are considered; for M.Tech/MSc/MCA, marks in all completed semesters are used.
2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called to the Service Selection Board centre. AC 3-tier rail fare is reimbursed for first-time SSB candidates.
3. Medical Examination: Conducted after SSB recommendation. No relaxation in medical standards. Change of medical hospital/centre is not allowed.

The final merit list is prepared based on SSB marks. Appointment is subject to police verification, character verification, and availability of vacancies.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official Indian Navy careers portal at joinindiannavy.gov.in.
2. Register and fill the online application during the application window.
3. Upload scanned copies (in original JPG/TIFF) of marks sheets up to 5th/7th semester (for B.E./B.Tech) or all completed semesters (for PG), 10th and 12th certificates as date of birth proof, CGPA conversion formula for engineering candidates, NCC 'C' certificate if applicable, and a recent passport-size colour photograph.
4. Ensure all scanned documents are legible — illegible scans will lead to rejection.
5. Submit the application (no amendments allowed after submission).
6. Take a printout of the application and carry it to the SSB interview.
