Indian Navy is hiring 275 Short Service Commission Officers for the Jun 2027 course at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. Indian Navy Short Service Commission Officer Recruitment 2026 - 275 Posts
The Indian Navy has released the official SSC notification for various entries - Jun 2027 course. The recruitment covers Executive, Education and Technical branches, including GS(X), Hydro, Pilot, Naval Air Operations Officer, ATC, Logistics, NAIC, Education, Engineering, Electrical, Submarine Technical and Naval Constructor entries. Both unmarried men and unmarried women can apply for most entries, while some submarine technical entries are for men only.
Selected candidates will train at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala and will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant after clearing the required medical and joining conditions. The Short Service Commission is initially for 12 years and can be extended by up to 2 years based on service requirement, performance, medical fitness and willingness.

- Submarine Technical Engineering: 8 posts, only for men
- Submarine Technical Electrical: 8 posts, only for men

Who Can Apply?
Common Conditions
- Marital Status: You must be an unmarried man or unmarried woman, as allowed for the entry.
- Nationality: You must meet the nationality conditions laid down by the Government of India.
- Degree Status: Final-year candidates can apply, but you must complete the required degree before joining INA in June 2027.
- Marks: Most technical and executive entries need at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree.
Executive Branch
- GS(X) / Hydro: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.
- Pilot / NAOO / ATC: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks; Pilot and NAOO candidates also need 60% aggregate in Class X and XII and 60% in English in Class X or XII.
- Logistics: First Class BE/B.Tech, MBA, B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc(IT) with PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain/Material Management, or MCA/M.Sc(IT).
- NAIC: BE/B.Tech in listed engineering streams or PG degree in Electronics/Physics, with the required school-level English marks.
Education and Technical Branches
- Education: MSc/MA in listed science or humanities subjects, BE/B.Tech in listed engineering streams, or ME/M.Tech in notified specialisations.
- Engineering / Electrical: BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in the listed engineering streams.
- Naval Constructor: BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Ship Building, Naval Architecture and other listed streams.
Age Limit
- GS(X), Hydro, Engineering, Electrical and Naval Constructor: born between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008.
- Pilot and NAOO: born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2008.
- ATC and some Education entries: born between 02 July 2002 and 01 July 2006.
- Education ME/M.Tech stream: born between 02 July 2000 and 01 July 2006.
- Merchant Navy and CPL holders: special born-between relaxations apply as mentioned in the official PDF.
Salary
- Initial gross salary of Sub Lieutenant starts from about Rs. 1,20,000 per month.
- Officers also get applicable allowances, leave, group insurance and gratuity benefits as per Indian Navy rules.
- Pilot, NAOO and Submarine allowance: Rs. 31,250 after successful completion of the relevant training or specialisation.
Selection Process
The selection is based on application shortlisting, SSB performance, medical fitness and final merit.
- Application Shortlisting: Indian Navy shortlists candidates using normalised marks in the qualifying degree.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are informed by email or SMS and must download the call letter.
- Medical Examination: SSB-recommended candidates undergo medical examination as applicable to their entry.
- Merit List: Final merit is prepared based on SSB marks, entry-wise vacancies and medical clearance.
- Document Verification: Degree, mark sheets, date of birth proof, NCC certificate and other documents are checked.

- Handle technical, executive, aviation, logistics or education work based on entry
- Maintain physical, medical and professional standards required for naval service
