Indian Navy SSC Executive (IT) Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

The Indian Navy has invited applications for Short Service Commission in Executive Branch (Information Technology) under the Special Naval Orientation Course starting January 2027 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. This is a 10-year commission, extendable up to 14 years. Selected candidates will be inducted as Sub-Lieutenants after a six-week orientation course at INA Ezhimala, followed by professional training at Naval ships and training establishments.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• You must have minimum 60% marks in English in Class 10 or Class 12.
• You must have at least 60% aggregate marks in any one of the following degrees:
  • M.Sc / B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Systems, Cyber Security, System Administration & Networking, Computer Systems & Networking, Data Analytics, or Artificial Intelligence
  • OR MCA with BCA or B.Sc in Computer Science / Information Technology
• Final-year students can also apply, but must submit proof of completing the qualifying degree by June 2026.
• The university/institute should be recognised by the Government of India under UGC Act 1956, IIT Act 1961, AICTE Act 1987, NITSER Act 2007, or IIIT Act 2014.

Other Conditions

• Marital Status: Only unmarried men and women can apply. If you marry during training, you will be discharged.
• Nationality: Indian citizens as per Government of India rules.
• Medical: You must meet Navy medical standards. There is no relaxation in medical standards.

Age Limit

• You must be born between 1 January 2002 and 1 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).
• This means your age should be roughly 19 to 24 years at the time of the course.
• NCC Bonus: NCC 'C' Certificate holders (with minimum 'B' grade, dated on or after 1 Jan 2024) get a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting.

Salary

• Basic pay of Sub-Lieutenant: Rs. 56,100 per month (Pay Level 10)
• You also get DA, MSP (Military Service Pay), Kit Maintenance Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other allowances as per Navy rules.
• Free medical facilities, leave benefits, group insurance and gratuity.
• Naval Group Insurance Scheme (NGIS) cover is mandatory.

Application Fee

• No application fee for any category — application is free for all candidates.

Selection Process

Selection is done in three main stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on normalised marks in your qualifying degree. For B.E/B.Tech, marks up to 5th semester are used. For M.Sc/MCA/M.Tech, marks of all completed semesters are used.
2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. AC 3-tier rail fare is paid for first-time candidates.
3. Medical Examination: SSB-recommended candidates undergo a medical exam as per Navy standards.
4. Police Verification & Character Verification: Final selection depends on these checks and on availability of vacancies.

Final merit is prepared on the basis of SSB marks. There is no written examination.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official Indian Navy website at joinindiannavy.gov.in.
2. Register on the portal with a valid email ID and mobile number.
3. Fill in your personal, educational and contact details (as per Class 10 certificate).
4. Upload scanned copies of mark sheets (up to 5th semester for B.E/B.Tech, all semesters for M.Sc/MCA), date of birth proof, NCC 'C' certificate (if applicable), and a recent passport-size photo in JPG/TIFF format.
5. Submit the application before 1 June 2026.
6. Take a printout of the application — you must carry it for the SSB interview.

Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation.
