AVNL, a Government of India defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. AVNL/CO/HR/2026/06 to fill 1,213 posts on Fixed Term Employment across its units, including Heavy Vehicles Factory Avadi, Engine Factory Avadi, Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, Ordnance Factory Medak, and Machine Tool Prototype Factory Ambernath. 1,005 of these vacancies are Junior Technician (Non-Executive) posts spread across 13 technical trades, while 208 are Executive posts ranging from Junior Manager to Additional General Manager and Consultant. AVNL manufactures Main Battle Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicles, and other defence mobility solutions, so this is one of the largest defence PSU recruitment drives of the year — whether you are an ITI trade holder or an experienced engineering/management professional.

Who Can Apply?
For Junior Technician Posts (13 trades):
- NTC/NAC certificate in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
For Engineering Executive Posts (Junior Manager/Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager/Senior Manager in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy, Civil, IT, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security):
- B.E./B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline (or an equivalent discipline recognised by AVNL). Senior Manager (Cyber Security) can alternatively apply with an MCA plus a Cyber Security certification.
For Non-Engineering Executive Posts (Human Resources, Official Language, Finance & Accounts, Marketing, Public Relations & Corporate Communication, Company Secretary):
- Graduate degree with a relevant MBA, PG Diploma, or professional certification specific to each post — for example, MBA (HR) for Junior Manager (HR), or Company Secretary qualification with ICSI membership for Company Secretary posts.
For Senior Specialist and Leadership Posts (Consultant, Additional General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Senior Manager - Intellectual Property):
- Experience-based eligibility — for example, Chartered Accountants with 10 years of Finance/Audit experience in Government/PSUs for Consultant, retired Army officers (minimum rank of Colonel) with 15 years of procurement experience for Additional General Manager, and Company Secretaries with 9+ years of service for Deputy General Manager.

Age Limit
- For Junior Technician, Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts: up to 30 years (maximum 55 years with all relaxations), as on the closing date of online registration.
- For Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts: below 65 years (inclusive of all relaxations).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years, PwBD candidates get 10 years, and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per government guidelines. Ex-Trade Apprentices of AVNL get relaxation equal to their apprenticeship training period.

- Junior Technician: Rs. 25,050 + IDA per month (Basic Rs. 21,000 + Special Allowance Rs. 1,050 + Medical/Conveyance/Mobile Rs. 3,000)
- Junior Manager: Rs. 34,500 + IDA per month
- Assistant Manager: Rs. 45,000 + IDA per month
- Deputy Manager: Rs. 55,500 + IDA per month
- Senior Manager: Rs. 76,500 + IDA per month
- Deputy General Manager: Rs. 87,000 + IDA per month
- Additional General Manager: Rs. 1,08,000 + IDA per month
- Consultant: Rs. 1,29,000 + IDA per month
- You will also get an annual increment of 3%, 18 days earned leave and 10 days casual leave per year, PF, gratuity, and medical insurance for yourself, your spouse, and up to two children.

Selection Process
The selection process differs by post level:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective MCQ exam of 100 marks in 2 hours, with no negative marking. Part A (50 marks) covers General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Computer Aptitude. Part B (50 marks) covers your trade syllabus (Junior Technician) or your engineering/management discipline (Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager). The CBT carries 100% weightage for Junior Technician and 85% weightage for Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts. There is no written exam for Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts.
- Trade Test: Qualifying in nature, held only for Junior Technician candidates who clear the CBT.
- Interview: Held for Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts (15% weightage, 50 marks), with candidates shortlisted at a 1:3 ratio per category based on CBT performance.
- Assessment and Interview: Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts are filled based on presentation, experience, expertise, and an interview — with no written test.
- Document Verification and Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to verification of your educational/technical qualifications, category/disability certificates, and a medical fitness declaration.
Test Centres: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur.
