IITGN Postdoctoral Researcher Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, one of India's newer IITs established in 2008, has announced this postdoctoral position under the GAPD Scheme. The role is funded by the C2S Category-II project titled "Secure and Energy efficient Mixed domain Compute in memory-based AI accelerator Chip for Edge applications," supported by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) and IIT Gandhinagar. You will work under the guidance of Prof. Joycee Mekie in the Electrical Engineering department.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science, or related areas
• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply
• Your doctoral work should be aligned with the project requirements (VLSI, circuit design, AI hardware)
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade from Graduation onwards
• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th

Skills and Experience

• Excellent understanding of digital and analog circuits
• Thorough exposure to VLSI tools and techniques
• Programming skills in C/C++, Python, Verilog/System Verilog or equivalent
• Interest in computer architecture and knowledge of system simulators (preferred)
• ASIC Design and Testing experience is relevant to the project
• Excellent communication skills and ability to carry out independent research

Candidates with prior research position experience will be given priority.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 72,000 to Rs. 84,000 (consolidated)
• This is a consolidated salary — no separate allowances like DA/HRA are paid on top

Contract Duration

• Initial appointment for 12 months
• Can be extended by 1 more year based on your performance and availability of project funds
