IIT Gandhinagar Gynaecologist Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) is looking for a part-time Gynaecologist to consult at the Institute's Medical Centre on its Gandhinagar campus. You would look after the health of a campus community of more than 3,500 students, faculty and staff.

The big draw is the schedule: just two visits a week of 1.5 hours each, for a fixed monthly fee. That makes it a good fit for a practising obstetrician-gynaecologist who wants a steady side engagement, or for a retired government or ex-service doctor — the notice gives retired medical professionals a higher age window.

The engagement is contractual, initially until 31 December 2027, and can be extended based on your performance and the Institute's needs. You also get access to campus facilities such as the library, sports complex and campus events.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of appointment: Purely temporary and contractual; it gives no right to regularisation or absorption later.
• Working pattern: Part-time visits twice a week, but you may be called for emergency cases beyond regular hours when needed.
• Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• Registration: You need a valid medical registration, and your MD/MS/DNB/DGO must be MCI/NMC-recognised.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the written test or interview.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification.
• Institute's right: IIT Gandhinagar may fill or not fill the post, or cancel the advertisement, without giving reasons.
