IIT Tirupati Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 40 Vacancies

IIT Tirupati has released notification for 40 Apprentice posts under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). This includes 26 Graduate Apprentice and 14 Technician (Diploma) Apprentice positions across multiple departments. Selection is through walk-in on 27 to 29 March 2026. Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati), located in Yerpedu, Andhra Pradesh, has announced walk-in selection for 40 apprenticeship positions under the NATS scheme run by the Ministry of Education. The training will last for 12 months, and based on your performance, IIT Tirupati may extend your engagement as Institute Trainee for another year. Freshers who passed their degree or diploma between 2022 and 2026 can attend the walk-in. Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentice Posts:

• Qualification: You need a relevant B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc, or Graduation degree depending on the department you are applying for.
• Year of Passing: You must have completed your degree between 2022 and 2026.
• Nationality: Indian nationals only.

For Technician (Diploma) Apprentice Posts:

• Qualification: You need a relevant Diploma (Engineering, GNM, or D.PED) depending on the department.
• Year of Passing: You must have completed your diploma between 2022 and 2026.

General Conditions:

• You should NOT have already undergone or currently be undergoing apprenticeship training at any organisation.
• You must NOT have more than 1 year of work experience.
• All qualifications must be from Indian institutions recognised by the appropriate statutory authority.
• You must register on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) before attending the walk-in.

Age Limit

• You must be at least 18 years old as on the date of selection.
• No upper age limit has been specified in the notification.

Stipend

• Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 20,000 per month (including NATS share)
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: Rs. 18,000 per month (including NATS share)
• Hostel accommodation may be available within IIT Tirupati campus on a payment basis, subject to availability.
• Based on performance, IIT Tirupati may extend your engagement as Institute Trainee for another 1 year.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through walk-in at IIT Tirupati campus:

1. Academic Merit / Written Test / Interaction: You will be evaluated based on your academic performance. A written test or interaction may also be conducted depending on the department's requirement.
2. Document Verification: Your original certificates, mark sheets, category certificates, and other documents will be verified before the apprenticeship contract is created.

Note: There is no obligation on IIT Tirupati to provide employment after completion of the apprenticeship. The training is governed by the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.

How to Apply

1. Register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in and note your registration number.
2. Download and fill the application form (Annexure A) from the official notification.
3. Collect all required documents (originals and self-attested copies).
4. Attend the walk-in selection at IIT Tirupati campus on the date specified for your department. Reporting time is 9:00 AM.
5. Submit your filled application form along with self-attested copies of all documents at the venue.

If you are eligible for more than one position, you must submit a separate application for each post.

• Work on projects and assignments given by the department supervisor

• Work in different shifts as required by the department
• Attend all training sessions and workshops arranged by the institute
