IIT Madras is hiring 1 Project Associate under the Department of Chemical Engineering. The work is for a project of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), New Delhi, which is also your place of posting. IIT Madras Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), has released notification Advt.91/2026 for 1 temporary Project Associate post. The post is coordinated by Prof. Vinu R of the Department of Chemical Engineering. This is a purely contract post for one year, extendable later based on your performance. Fresh graduates as well as those with up to one year of experience can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a 4-year bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering. A degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Applied Chemistry is also accepted.
• Preferred Qualification: A Master's degree (M.Sc. or M.Tech) is desirable.
• Experience: Up to 1 year of work experience after graduation is desirable, especially in project management, organizing meetings, training programmes, and stakeholder consultations.
• You must be a citizen of India.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 55,000 per month.
• The exact figure depends on your qualification and experience.

Selection Process

Selection is based on your qualifications and experience:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on the details given in their online application.
2. Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a test and/or interview. The Institute decides the mode of screening.
3. Document Verification: You must bring a printout of your application and original documents when called.

The crucial date for deciding eligibility is the last date for submitting the online application.
