Who Can Apply?

For Junior Assistant (Hospitality) - Pay Level-3, Max Age 30 years:

• Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology with 55% marks, OR
• 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology with 55% marks plus 2 years of experience
• Experience in a residential educational institution is desirable.

For Junior Technician (Civil Maintenance) - Pay Level-3, Max Age 30 years:

• 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 55% marks from a recognized Polytechnic/Institute
• 5 years of relevant work experience in a large residential campus
• Knowledge of computer office applications
• Experience maintaining civil infrastructure of a large residential campus or reputed industry is desirable.

For Junior Technician (Electrical Maintenance) - Pay Level-3, Max Age 30 years:

• 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 55% marks from a recognized Polytechnic/Institute
• 5 years of relevant work experience in a large residential campus
• Knowledge of computer office applications
• Experience maintaining electrical infrastructure of a large residential campus or reputed industry is desirable.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit for all three posts is 30 years, reckoned as on the closing date of application, 6 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get relaxation as per Government of India norms. Regular employees of the Institute or other IITs/NITs/CFTIs for at least 3 years on a regular post get a 5-year relaxation (not applicable to private organization employees). Ex-servicemen and PwD candidates also get relaxation as per GoI norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary under Pay Level-3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, ranging from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad will select candidates through the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on essential qualifications and experience mentioned in the advertisement. Fulfilling the qualifications alone does not guarantee a call for the selection process.
2. Written Test and Trade Test/Computer Proficiency Test: Conducted as per the Recruitment Rules of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad if a large number of applications are received.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the recruitment tests. Candidates currently employed in Government/PSU organizations must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

Other Important Points

• The Institute follows reservation norms as per Government of India rules for SC, ST and EWS candidates, and the Central Government approved list of SC and ST categories applies at IIT (ISM), Dhanbad.
• SC, ST and EWS candidates must attach a copy of their Caste/EWS Certificate in the latest prescribed format along with the application.
• The Institute reserves the right to assign or transfer selected candidates to any section or department within the campus.
• The Institute also reserves the right to place a reasonable limit on the number of candidates called for the selection process, and to cancel the advertisement in whole or in part without assigning any reason.
