Gurugram University is a state university located in Sector-51, Gurugram, established under the Haryana Act 17 of 2017. It has invited applications for 2 Adjunct Faculty positions in the Department of Media Studies through Advertisement No. AFT-02/2026. The university wants to bring in reputed practitioners, engineers, scientists, academicians, scholars and policymakers - both serving and retired - to strengthen the teaching and research work of the department. The goal is to build a strong link between the classroom and the industry: bringing in real-world experience helps make lessons more relevant and gives students direct exposure to how the media industry actually works. No written exam is required - you just need to show up for the walk-in interview with your documents. The engagement can last from one semester (6 months) to six semesters (3 years), making this a flexible opportunity for professionals who want to teach alongside their main career.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have the educational qualification prescribed by UGC or the respective Statutory Body, or be an accomplished professional in your chosen field.
• Recognition: You should be recognized by various bodies in your field of work.
• Industry candidates: If you are from an industry background, your domain knowledge should carry significant value - a formal statutory qualification may not be considered essential in such cases.
• Preferred skills (Media Studies): Design, software skills, audio & visual presentation and editing, and mainstream media experience, with adequate industry experience.
• Who is eligible: Reputed practitioners, engineers from industry, scientists, academicians, scholars, policymakers and other professionals - both serving and retired.

Age Limit

• Engagement of Adjunct Faculty beyond the age of 65 years is discouraged, except for candidates with an exceptionally brilliant academic or industrial background.

Salary

• Professor equivalent: Rs. 4,000 per day, up to Rs. 80,000 per month (fixed honorarium ceiling)
• Associate Professor equivalent: Rs. 3,000 per day, up to Rs. 60,000 per month
• Assistant Professor equivalent: Rs. 2,000 per day, up to Rs. 40,000 per month
• This is a consolidated, fixed remuneration - no other allowances are mentioned. Your exact tier is decided by the selection panel based on your qualifications and experience.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Gurugram University will select Adjunct Faculty directly through a walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring your filled application form, original degree certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies for verification at the venue.
2. Interview: Eligible candidates will be interviewed on the spot by the selection panel, which also decides your remuneration tier.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
