Gurugram University is hiring 13 Assistant Professors on a contract basis (under Self Finance) for the 2026-27 academic session. Gurugram University (GUG) Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 - 13 Posts

Gurugram University, Gurugram (a State Government University set up under Haryana Act 17 of 2017) has released advertisement number CT-12-17/2026 for 13 Assistant Professor posts across six subjects — Indian Language, Law, Management, Media Studies, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Psychology. All these posts are on a contract basis under the Self Finance scheme for the 2026-27 session only. There is a written test as part of selection, so both freshers and experienced teachers can apply.

Reservation is as per Haryana State Government rules (categories include UR, EWS, DSC, OSC, BCA, BCB). The benefit of reservation is only for candidates who are domiciles of Haryana.

Who Can Apply?

Indian Language, Law, Media Studies and Psychology

• A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian university.
• You must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET, OR hold a Ph.D awarded as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations.

Management

• A Bachelor's degree in any subject AND a Master's in Business Administration / PGDM / CA / ICWA / M.Com with First Class.
• Two years of professional experience after the Master's degree.

Pharmaceutical Sciences

• A First Class B.Pharm with M.Pharm in the relevant branch of specialization.
• You must be registered with a State Pharmacy Council and your degree must be recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Common Requirement

• You must have studied Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject at matriculation (10th) or a higher level.
• You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

• You must be between 18 and 55 years old (as on the last date of receipt of application).
• No age relaxation is allowed for any category.

Salary

• You will get a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 57,700 per month.
• This is equal to the entry-level pay of a regular Assistant Professor, but the post is purely on a contract basis under Self Finance.

• DSC / OSC / BCA / BCB / EWS / ESM of Haryana: Rs. 250
• Women with Haryana domicile: 50% of the fee
• PwBD candidates of Haryana: No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "Gurugram University, Gurugram", payable at Gurugram

If you apply for more than one subject, you must send a separate application and separate fee for each.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a composite score out of 100 marks:

1. Shortlisting (Academic Record): Your academic marks are scored out of 100 — Graduation (15), Post-Graduation (25), M.Phil/Ph.D (30), NET-JRF/NET/SET (7), Research Publications (10), Teaching Experience (10) and Awards (3). This is used only to shortlist candidates.
2. Written Test (Domain Knowledge) - 50 marks: You must score at least 50% (47.5% for DSC/OSC/BC/PwBD) to qualify.
3. Teaching Skills (PPT Presentation) - 30 marks
4. Interview - 20 marks

Minimum composite score: You must get at least 60% (57% for DSC/OSC/BCA/BCB/PwBD) to be considered for selection. The written test structure and syllabus will be uploaded on the university website.

2. Prepare a Demand Draft for the application fee.
3. Email the scanned, clearly legible application form with self-attested documents and the DD to gugrecruitment@gurugramuniversity.ac.in on or before 13 July 2026.
4. Send the hard copy of the form with all documents and the original DD to the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), Gurugram University, Mayfield Garden, Sector-51, Gurugram, Haryana-122003 so that it reaches by 17 July 2026.
