Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has issued a notification dated 12 June 2026 for contractual Teaching Faculty engagement at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai. The recruitment covers broad specialty and super-specialty departments across two walk-in interview dates. Selection is mainly through interview, with a screening test possible only if turnout is very high.

PwD horizontal reservation: 13 posts are reserved for PwD candidates in identified posts, including 3 Professor, 4 Associate Professor, and 6 Assistant Professor vacancies.

Who Can Apply?

Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor

• Qualification and experience: You must meet the required academic qualification and teaching experience as per Eligibility Qualifications in TEQ in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025, dated 30 June 2025, as amended and applicable to the post and specialty.
• Registration: You must have valid registration with any State Medical Council/NMC, wherever applicable.
• ICU post note: For ICU Assistant Professor posts, candidates from Critical Care Medicine get first preference. General Medicine candidates with at least 1 year Senior Resident experience may also be considered as per the notice.
• Reservation documents: If you claim SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, or Ex-Servicemen benefit, you must bring the valid certificate in the Government of India format.

Age Limit

• Age should be not exceeding 67 years as on the interview date.
• Candidates aged up to 69 years may be considered, but the tenure will be only until they reach 70 years.
• For PwD benefit, disability should be at least 40% with a valid certificate from the competent authority.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,56,671 consolidated monthly salary
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,70,681 consolidated monthly salary
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,46,638 consolidated monthly salary
• Additional payment: Transport allowance with DA on transport allowance will be paid as per rules.
• Approximate total earnings for January 2026: Professor Rs. 2,68,047, Associate Professor Rs. 1,82,057, and Assistant Professor Rs. 1,58,014.

Application Fee

• SC/ST/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen: No fee
• All other categories: Rs. 500
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of ESI Fund Account No. 1, payable at Chennai.
• Refund: Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process

ESIC will select faculty through walk-in interview after checking applications and documents. If turnout is more than 1:10 per post, a screening test may be used only for shortlisting.

1. Reporting and Registration: Report between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the scheduled interview date.
2. Application Scrutiny: The scrutiny committee will check your form, documents, eligibility, and fee/DD where applicable.
3. Screening Test, if needed: ESIC may conduct MCQs in the concerned discipline to shortlist candidates in a 1:5 ratio. These marks will not be added to final selection.
4. Interview: Final selection is based on performance before the Selection Board.
5. Document Verification and Joining Formalities: Selected candidates must complete certificate checking, acceptance, and required medical/contract formalities.

Minimum interview suitability marks are UR/EWS 50, OBC 45, and SC/ST/PwD 40 out of 100.

Tie-breaking rules are also stated. If two or more candidates get the same interview marks, the older candidate will be considered first, and then the earlier passing date of the essential degree will be considered.
