Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has released Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 for contract recruitment at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Surat, Gujarat. This notice covers Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Resident and Tutor/Demonstrator posts across medical departments. The contract is initially for 1 year and may be extended up to 3 years, subject to performance, requirement and other ESIC conditions.

• Tutor/Demonstrator: 8 posts

The vacancies are spread across 24 departments, including Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Radiology, Surgery, Psychiatry, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, ICU and other clinical departments. The notification says these vacancies are provisional and can increase or decrease based on teaching and patient-care needs.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Medical qualification: You need qualifications as per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC/MCI) guidelines for the relevant post and department.
• Medical registration: You must have updated registration with the NMC or State Medical Council for MBBS and post-MBBS qualifications.
• Professor/Faculty posts: Retired or working Professors can also apply if they meet the ESIC and NMC conditions.
• NOC: If you work in a government, autonomous or statutory institution, you should preferably bring an NOC or proof that you have applied for it.

Other Conditions

• No private practice: Private practice is not allowed after joining ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Surat.
• Separate application: If you apply for more than one post, you must submit a separate application and fee for each post.
• Cut-off date: Age, education and other eligibility will be checked as on 29 June 2026.

Age Limit

• Teaching Faculty: Maximum age is 67 years as on 29 June 2026.
• Senior Resident and Tutor/Demonstrator: Maximum age is 45 years as on 29 June 2026.
• Age relaxation: Relaxation applies as per prevailing Government of India rules.
• Tenure cap: Faculty engagement can continue only up to 70 years of age, subject to the contract terms.

Salary

• Professor: Fixed basic pay of Rs. 1,23,100 under Level 13 plus other allowances.
• Associate Professor: Fixed basic pay of Rs. 78,800 under Level 12 plus other allowances.
• Assistant Professor: Fixed basic pay of Rs. 67,700 under Level 11 plus other allowances.
• Senior Resident: Fixed basic pay of Rs. 67,700 under Level 11 plus other allowances.
• Tutor/Demonstrator: Fixed basic pay of Rs. 56,100 under Level 10 plus other allowances.
• NPA note: Non-medical officers, if selected, will not get Non-Practicing Allowance.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / ESIC regular employees / female candidates / defence ex-servicemen / PH candidates: No fee.
• All other categories: Rs. 500.
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of ESI Fund A/c No. 1, payable at Surat.
• Security deposit: Selected candidates must submit a refundable Rs. 20,000 security deposit by Demand Draft at joining.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

ESIC Surat will select candidates through document verification and interview. There is no written exam in this notification.

1. Document Verification: Bring the offline form and self-attested document copies. Only candidates whose documents are verified will be allowed for interview.
2. Academic Credentials Review: The selection board will check your medical qualifications, registration, publications and experience.
3. Interview: Final selection will be based on acquired academic credentials and interview performance.

The result will be published on the Recruitments section of www.esic.gov.in, and appointment offers will be sent by email.

2. Fill the form carefully and attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
3. Prepare a separate application and separate fee DD if you are applying for more than one post.
4. Report for document verification and interview between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM on the department-wise interview date.
5. Reach the venue at Office of the Dean, 1st Floor, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Near New Civil Hospital, Majura Gate, Civil Char Rasta, Surat, Gujarat - 395001.
6. Carry original documents for verification. Candidates reporting after 10:00 AM will be treated as absent.
