ESIC is hiring 74 Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Resident and Homeopathy Physician posts on contract basis at its Medical College and Hospital in Andheri East, Mumbai. If you have an MBBS with a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB), or a BHMS for the Homeopathy post, you can walk in for the interview between 24 and 26 July 2026. Faculty posts pay up to Rs. 2,81,704 per month at the Professor level, while the Homeopathy Physician post pays Rs. 50,000 per month.

ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Andheri East, Mumbai has released Advertisement No. 11/2026 to fill 74 teaching and resident doctor posts on a contract basis across 28 departments, including Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics and more. The engagement is for one year, extendable up to three years based on your performance, or until a regular faculty member joins — whichever comes first. Retired doctors and pensioners can also apply and will continue to draw their pension along with the contractual pay.

Openings span 28 departments — Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, Radiology, Accident & Emergency, Burns & Plastic Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Blood Bank, Haematology and ICU. Interviews are held department-wise on 24, 25 and 26 July 2026.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident (Faculty Posts):

• You need MBBS with a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant department, as per the latest NMC Gazette notification dated 30 June 2026.
• Your Medical Registration (NMC/State Medical Council) must be updated; if it is not, you can submit proof of "applied for" documents at the interview.
• Experience requirements follow the NMC Gazette notification dated 30 June 2025.

For Part Time Homeopathy Physician:

• You need a BHMS degree from a recognised university; candidates with a PG qualification get preference.
• You must be registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council or the Medical Council of India (if registered in another state, you must register with MMC at the time of joining).
• Your teaching/relevant experience certificate should be from a Government institution, if applicable.

Age Limit

• Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 68 years as on 30 June 2026 (date of interview).
• Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on 30 June 2026.
• Homeopathy Physician: Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST.

Salary

• Professor (Level 13): Basic pay of Rs. 1,23,100 plus allowances, approx. Rs. 2,81,704 per month.
• Associate Professor (Level 12): Basic pay of Rs. 78,800 plus allowances, approx. Rs. 1,84,421 per month.
• Assistant Professor / Senior Resident (Level 11): Basic pay of Rs. 67,700 plus allowances, approx. Rs. 1,60,045 per month.
• Homeopathy Physician: Rs. 50,000 per month for 5 hours a day, 6 days a week — no other allowance applies.
• Faculty allowances include DA, NPA, TA and HRA.

Application Fee

• UR / OBC: Rs. 300
• SC / ST: Rs. 125
• ESIC Regular Employees, Female Candidates, Defence Ex-Servicemen and PwD candidates: No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1", payable at Mumbai.
• The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Reservation for PwBD candidates follows Government of India norms; if enough PwBD candidates are not available for a department, those seats are carried forward and filled from the general walk-in panel to keep essential hospital services running.

Selection Process

The selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held before a selection board at the Dean Office based on your academic credentials and performance.
2. Document Verification: Your certificates are checked against the originals before the interview and before your offer of appointment is issued.

The result, including the waiting list, will be published on the Recruitment section of esic.gov.in. Your offer of appointment will be sent only through email. No private practice is allowed in any form once you join as teaching faculty or Senior Resident. The contract can be ended from either side with one month notice, and it is subject to a maximum tenure of 70 years of age for teaching faculty.

3. Carry your original application form, original documents and the Demand Draft for the application fee (if applicable).
4. Report at the Dean Office, 5th Floor, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, MIDC, Andheri East, Mumbai between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM on your scheduled interview date.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
