The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), under the Ministry of Defence, has released a notification to fill 27 contractual posts at ECHS Polyclinic Jammu, covering 15 different roles from Medical Specialist to Safaiwala. Medical Officer has the highest number of vacancies (9 posts), followed by Pharmacist (3 posts). The engagement is initially valid up to 31 March 2027 and can be renewed for additional one-year periods, subject to your performance and age limits. Preference is given to Ex-servicemen and their dependents/widows.

Who Can Apply?

Medical Specialist & Gynaecologist (Rs. 1,30,000/month):

• MD/MS in the concerned specialty, or DNB, with a minimum of 3 years' work experience

Medical Officer & Dental Officer (Rs. 95,000/month):

• MBBS (for Medical Officer) or BDS (for Dental Officer), with a minimum of 3 years' work experience

Pharmacist, Lab Technician, Physiotherapist, Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician, IT Networking Technician (Rs. 36,500/month):

• B.Pharmacy, or 10+2 with Science and a Diploma in Pharmacy (for Pharmacist)
• B.Sc (Medical Lab Tech), or 10+2 Science with a Diploma in Medical Lab Tech (for Lab Technician)
• Diploma / Class 1 Physiotherapy Course, Armed Forces (for Physiotherapist)
• Diploma in Dental Hygiene / Class I DORA Course, Armed Forces (for Dental A/T/H)
• Diploma/Certificate in IT Networking and Computer Applications (for IT Networking Technician)
• Minimum work experience required is 2 to 5 years depending on the post

Clerk, Data Entry Operator, Driver, Peon, Female Attendant, Safaiwala (Rs. 21,800 to Rs. 29,200/month):

• Graduation or Class 1 Clerical Trade (Armed Forces) for Clerk and Data Entry Operator
• Class 8th pass with Class 1 MT Driver licence (Armed Forces) for Driver
• Class 8th pass, GD Trade (Armed Forces) for Peon
• Literate for Female Attendant and Safaiwala
• Minimum work experience required is 5 years for these posts

Preference will be given to Ex-servicemen, War Widows, and widows of Ex-servicemen as per authorization/allotment of reservation for each post.

Salary

• Medical Specialist / Gynaecologist: Rs. 1,30,000 per month
• Medical Officer / Dental Officer: Rs. 95,000 per month
• Pharmacist / Lab Technician / Physiotherapist / Dental A/T/H / IT Networking Technician: Rs. 36,500 per month
• Data Entry Operator (Polyclinic): Rs. 29,200 per month
• Clerk (RC) / Driver: Rs. 25,600 per month
• Peon / Female Attendant / Safaiwala: Rs. 21,800 per month
• These are fixed consolidated salaries — civilian and Ex-Servicemen candidates are paid based on their last drawn pension, as applicable.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Document Screening: Your application, along with self-attested photocopies of educational qualifications, work experience, medical certificate, and character certificate/police verification, will be checked.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must report to Station HQ Jammu at 0830 hrs on 20, 21, and 22 August 2026, with interviews held between 0845 and 1400 hrs. Bring your original certificates, mark sheets, discharge book, PPO, and two passport-size photographs.

Selected candidates must complete a mandatory 10-day unpaid On-the-Job Training (OJT) and get a certificate from the OIC, ECHS Polyclinic Jammu, before signing the contract. No TA/DA is paid for the interview.
