About This Job

Apply for 19 Actuarial and Data Analytics posts in ESIC. IAI actuaries, data and IT experts eligible. Salary: Rs 80,000-3,30,000. Last date: 12 Nov 2026.

ESIC Actuarial and Data Analytics Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), the statutory social security body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is hiring senior professionals for two teams at its headquarters: an expanded Actuarial Division (called Actuarial 2.0) and a brand-new Data and Analytics Branch (DAB) inside the ICT Division.

The reason is legal: the ESI Act, 1948 and the Social Security Code, 2020 require ESIC to run regular actuarial valuations and long-term projections of its schemes, while the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 brings strict rules on data governance and privacy. All posts are on a purely contractual basis, so this suits experienced actuaries, statisticians, data engineers and privacy specialists who want to shape a national social insurance scheme without joining a regular cadre.

Posts and Disciplines

Actuarial 2.0 Branch

  • Chief Actuary / Actuarial Advisor: the unit head and final signing authority for all actuarial work on the ESI Scheme.
  • Senior Actuarial Specialist (Valuation and Projections): runs and peer-reviews the valuation and projection models.
  • Senior Actuarial Specialist (Policy and Scheme Design): tests the cost impact of policy changes and reforms.
  • Actuarial Analyst / Modeller: execution-level modelling support; open to candidates still clearing IAI papers.
  • Statistical / Research Officer (Actuarial Support): experience studies and statistical research behind actuarial assumptions.

Data and Analytics Branch

  • Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO): technical head of the branch, reporting to the Director General, ESIC.
  • Data Governance Officer, Data Engineering Officer, Data Analytics Officer and Data Protection Officer (DPO): four domain leads, each supervising their own technical officers.
  • Technical Officers: hands-on roles in Data Quality and Metadata, Data Engineering, Data Analysis / Statistics, and Data Privacy and Access.

Each post has its own upper age limit and minimum experience — check the post-wise table on this page before you apply.

Post-wise Duties

Chief Actuary / Actuarial Advisor

You will lead and sign off the periodic actuarial valuations of the ESI Scheme, build 25 to 75-year financial projections, design stress tests, and advise ESIC on contribution rates, wage ceilings and scheme expansion. You will also review reports from empanelled actuarial firms and guide the use of ILO pension and health models.

Senior Actuarial Specialists

The Valuation and Projections specialist maintains the valuation models, runs cash-flow projections and writes assumption papers. The Policy and Scheme Design specialist models wage ceiling changes and benefit redesign, and supports cabinet notes and inter-ministerial consultations.

Actuarial Analyst and Statistical / Research Officer

You will prepare datasets, assumption tables and projection runs, and carry out experience studies on claims, wages and demographics that feed the valuation work.

CDAO and Data Branch Officers

The CDAO designs ESIC's enterprise data architecture and supervises the branch. The governance lead writes data standards and certifies authoritative datasets; the engineering lead builds ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses; the analytics lead produces dashboards and actuarial-ready datasets; and the DPO frames privacy policies and access controls under the DPDP Act.

Technical Officers

You will do the day-to-day work under your domain lead — metadata and data quality checks, pipeline development and logs, statistical reports, or access-log and audit-trail maintenance.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: An initial three-year contract, extendable for two more years, one year at a time, based on your performance and ESIC's needs.
  • No regularisation: The engagement gives you no right to a regular post in ESIC or the Government, nor Government employee status for loans or visas.
  • Notice period: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice or one month's pay in lieu; misconduct, fraud or breach of confidentiality allows immediate termination.
  • Pay fixation: Your exact pay within the post's range is set by the Selection Committee and cannot be renegotiated later.
  • Exclusivity: No private practice, parallel consultancy or outside job, and all models, code and reports you create belong to ESIC.
  • Reserve panel: Up to three reserve candidates per vacancy may be kept, valid for up to one year.
  • Jurisdiction: Disputes fall under the courts and tribunals at New Delhi.

Application Submission Notes

Apply only through the ESIC engagement recruitment portal linked from esic.gov.in — applications sent by any other mode are rejected. Upload proof of your age, qualifications and experience on the portal itself, because shortlisting is done on the details and documents you submit online. Results are published on the official ESIC website.
