Cochin Port Authority (CoPA), the major port on Willingdon Island, Kochi, is hiring Master Tugs (Class – I) through direct recruitment on a regular basis. This is a permanent port job, not a contract or project post, so it suits licensed deck officers looking for a regular port career in Kerala.

To qualify you need a Certificate of Competency as Master (NCV) or as Mate of a foreign-going ship issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958, or an equivalent the Ministry of Shipping recognises. Both openings are unreserved (UR), and the selected officers join a regular pay scale with port allowances on top.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Major Port employees: Staff already working in any Major Port Authority of India can apply with a higher age ceiling of 55 years, as long as they hold the required qualification.
• Government employees: If you work for a Central or State Government body, PSU or autonomous body, get your employer's approval before applying; you must submit a No Objection Certificate if shortlisted.
• Shortlisting: CoPA can limit the number of people called for the written test or interview based on qualification and experience, and may change the selection method.
• Provisional candidature: Your selection depends on original certificate checks and medical fitness. False details lead to rejection, or termination even after joining.
• One application only: Sending more than one application gets all of them rejected, and you cannot edit the form after final submission.
• Jurisdiction: Any legal dispute can be filed only in the courts at Cochin.

Application Submission Notes

The online portal run through ITI Limited (linked on cochinport.gov.in/careers) is the only accepted route. Upload your age, qualification, CoC and CDC documents while applying. Pay the processing fee through SBI Collect (under Govt. Departments, choose Cochin Port Trust) or the payment link in the portal, then upload the payment receipt in the Payment details window.

The fee guide attached to the notice names "Application Fee - Law Officer Gr. I" as the sample payment category, so double-check that you pick the category for the post you are applying for.
