DTU Data Scientist Recruitment 2026: Overview

Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, is hiring a Data Scientist for a research project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The project is titled Development of AI-Based Solution for Analysing, Benchmarking and Quality Monitoring of the Cybersecurity Audit Reports and Performance Monitoring of Auditing Organizations, and it is run from DTU's Computer Science and Engineering side under Chief Investigator Dr. Pawan Singh Mehra.

In simple terms, the project uses AI to judge how good cybersecurity audit reports are and how well the auditing firms behind them perform. This is a contractual, project-based engagement at the DTU campus in Shahbad Daulatpur, Delhi. If you have worked with machine learning, NLP or large language models and like the idea of applying them to cybersecurity, this post is a strong fit. The notice lists hands-on experience in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, NLP, text summarisation, LLMs, reinforcement learning, Python and information security as preferred skills. For shortlisting, PhD holders gain from an SCI/SCIE journal paper, while M.Tech holders gain from post-qualification experience and SCI/SCIE publications. These desirable points only decide preference; they are not compulsory.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Twelve months or until the project ends, whichever comes first. Renewal depends on your performance, project funds and approval of the competent authority.
• Assessment period: You must clear a three-month satisfactory assessment to continue. The Chief Investigator can end the engagement for poor performance with one month's notice.
• Consolidated pay: The monthly amount is all-inclusive. No HRA, TA, DA, medical or other benefits are given.
• Working hours: At least five days a week and eight hours a day, within the 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM window or as the project needs.
• Confidentiality: You must keep project data confidential and may have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
• No permanent claim: The engagement does not create an employer-employee relationship beyond the project and gives no right to a regular job at DTU or MeitY.
• Currently employed? Bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer when you join.
• Discipline and duty: You follow DTU's disciplinary rules. Project-related workshops, conferences or visits count as On Duty only with prior approval.
• Other notes: No TA/DA for the interview, canvassing leads to disqualification, and false information can cancel your candidature at any stage.
