DFCCIL General Manager (Electrical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Schedule 'A' Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is building India's most ambitious rail freight corridors along the golden quadrilateral. DFCCIL is hiring one General Manager (Electrical) at the E-8 Level through immediate absorption from regular officers working in Central/State Government departments, PSUs, Railways, or organizations audited by C&AG. This is a senior leadership role in the Electrical department, ideal for experienced IRSEE officers or equivalent from railway PSUs and metro railways. If you have hands-on experience in traction distribution systems and electrical project management, this is your opportunity to join one of India's largest infrastructure projects.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree: You need a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute (UGC or AICTE approved) with a good academic record.

Essential Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Planning, Construction, or Maintenance of Traction Distribution systems in Indian Railways, Railway PSUs, or Metro Railways.
  • Experience in tendering, contract management, or project management.
  • Knowledge of coordinating with railway-related disciplines such as track, signalling, and rolling stock.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in planning and construction of 2X25 kV TrD system is an added advantage.

Eligibility for Immediate Absorption (CDA Pay Scale Officers):

  • Working in an analogous grade, i.e., SA Grade (Level 14), or working in SG Grade (Level 13) with 17 years of Group 'A' service in the relevant discipline.

Eligibility for Immediate Absorption (IDA Pay Scale Officers):

  • Working in an analogous grade of E8 Level (Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000) with 20 years of Managerial service, or working in E7 Level (Rs. 1,00,000-2,60,000) for at least 4 years with a total of 20 years of Managerial service.

Other Conditions:

  • Applicants on temporary capacity, contract, ad-hoc, deputation, or MACP financial up-gradation are not eligible.
  • Minimum 4 years of APARs (Annual Performance Appraisal Reports) are mandatory. Without APARs for the preceding 4 years, you will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
  • All courses must be from UGC or AICTE approved institutions.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 57 years as on the last date of the advertisement.
  • Reservation rules are not applicable for deputation and absorption posts as per Government of India instructions. However, eligible SC/ST applications will be considered for selection along with others.

Salary

  • Pay Scale: E-8 Level: Rs. 1,20,000 - Rs. 2,80,000 per month (IDA Pay Scale).
  • This is the basic pay range. You will also get Industrial DA (IDA) on top of the basic pay.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through interview only:

  1. Shortlisting: DFCCIL will shortlist eligible candidates based on their qualifications, additional professional qualifications, experience, and achievements. If the number of eligible applicants is large, DFCCIL reserves the right to shortlist a limited number of candidates.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be assessed on APAR ratings for the preceding 4 years, Experience Profile, Additional Professional Qualifications, and Personality. Weightage will be given to each of these attributes as per extant policy.
  3. Document Verification: Selected candidates must produce original documents and certificates at the time of joining.

Note: No TA/DA will be reimbursed for appearing in the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, construction, and maintenance of traction distribution systems across the Dedicated Freight Corridor
  • Manage electrical infrastructure projects including 2X25 kV TrD systems for high-capacity rail freight operations
  • Coordinate with track, signalling, and rolling stock teams to ensure smooth commissioning of electrical systems
  • Handle tendering processes, contract management, and vendor coordination for electrical works
  • Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and safety compliance for all electrical installations
  • Prepare technical specifications, project reports, and budget estimates for electrical department activities
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical staff in the Electrical department
