Who Can Apply?
Qualifications follow UGC Regulations 2018. The exact requirement depends on the department you apply to.
For most departments (Physics, Life Sciences, Statistics, Biochemistry, Economics, Data Science, Energy & Environment, Journalism, Life Long Learning)
- A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned, relevant or allied subject from a recognised Indian university.
- You must have cleared NET / SLET / SET, OR hold a Ph.D awarded as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations (Ph.D holders are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if conditions are met).
- Alternatively, a Ph.D from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 of QS, THE or ARWU world rankings is accepted.
For School of Education
- A postgraduate degree in Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Languages, Social Sciences or Mathematics with minimum 55%, AND M.Ed with minimum 55%.
- You must have cleared NET in Education (or hold a qualifying Ph.D as per UGC rules).
- Pedagogy subjects listed for this post are essential — only those subjects will be accepted.
For Institute of Management Studies
- A Master's degree in Business Administration / PGDM / CA / ICWA / M.Com with First Class or equivalent, plus two years of professional experience after the Master's degree.
- You must have cleared NET in Management (or hold a qualifying Ph.D as per UGC rules).
Benefits of reservation and fee relaxation are available only to candidates with MP domicile on submission of the relevant certificate. SC/ST/OBC/EWS applicants from other states are treated as UR.
Salary
- Selected candidates are appointed under Academic Pay Level 10 of the 7th CPC, with an entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month.
- You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh Government and UGC rules.

- SC / ST (MP domicile, with certificate): Rs. 500
- Divyang (PwD) candidates with valid disability certificate: No fee

- Fee once paid is not refunded. SC/ST/OBC/EWS applicants from other states pay the UR fee of Rs. 1,000.
Selection Process
Selection is based on your interview performance, in line with UGC norms.
- Screening / Short-listing: The University uses the academic score (as per Annexure II) and stringent short-listing criteria to call candidates for interview. Meeting the minimum eligibility alone does not guarantee an interview call.
- Document Verification: Your educational, experience and category certificates are checked. Applications without supporting documents are rejected.
- Interview: Final selection is based purely on your performance in the interview.
There is no written exam for these posts.

- Super-scribe the name of the post on the envelope.

- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in the assigned department as per the approved syllabus
- Prepare lesson plans, study materials, and question papers for your subject
- Evaluate student assignments, projects, dissertations and examinations
- Guide and mentor research scholars and students in academic and career matters
- Carry out research and publish papers in UGC-CARE listed and peer-reviewed journals
- Take part in department committees, admissions, and university administrative work
- Help organise seminars, workshops and academic events in your school
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject plus NET/SLET/SET, or a Ph.D as per UGC Regulations 2018 (UGC norms followed for each department)
Preferred Qualification
Desirable specialisations vary by department (e.g. Experimental Laser Physics, Plant Biochemistry, Data Science, Computational Statistics). For Institute of Management Studies, two years of professional experience after the Master's degree is required.
